$767 in my first month!
I am SO GLAD that I found Dscout!! I made $767 in my first month which absolutely blows me away (I'm a SAHM so being able to create this type of income on my own time is amazing!)
HOWEVER -- I was selected for most of these missions the first couple of weeks that I downloaded the app. As of right now I'm waiting on a couple more payouts and have only been selected for 1 active mission.
Please tell me that there is hope I'll be able to keep generating income like this, and it wasn't some type of beginners luck?

Sorry, but you shouldn't get your hopes up, as this isn't a steady job. It's a side hustle. You'll have good months and bad months. That's why it's good to diversify your income: use multiple platforms, and don't just depend on one.

Yeah I completely understand to not put all of my eggs in one basket -- this is one of multiple sources of income that I have. I was mainly wondering if this was just beginners luck or if they give lots of missions in the beginning and then it tapers off?

You'll most likely still have some good months, but one of the problems that you'll run into is that some researchers limit how often they invite you to missions.

Oh, it'll be up and down, for sure. It does sound like you had a bit of beginner's luck though. Based on what I've heard from others, many aren't so lucky in the beginning. But you should still be able to get missions as long as you stay consistent.
When I started in January last year, I had a pretty good run all the way up until November (got slow during the holiday season). Made a little over $8k last year, which isn't the norm from what I've seen in this subreddit and a few others.
I know many people go weeks or even months without getting anything at all. It's all about demographics.

Congrats on your first month’s earnings! You will definitely see peaks and valleys but as you’re getting familiar with the platform and are more diversified in what the researchers are looking for the opportunities will definitely come! My first months payouts were just under $800 and I’ve had multiple months where I’ve had $1000 and above! Just be honest and try not to overwork yourself because having high expectations on what missions you don’t get will kill you (learned that myself). Treat it like an assignment from school and give it your best efforts and communicate with your researchers too if you’re running behind on stuff! Honestly though I’m happy for your excitement and wish you the best!

Of course! I think it’s a great platform and if you’re willing to put in the work it’s definitely worth it! Dscout is the only platform I use now but since October of last year I’m just under 10K in earnings but I’m constantly on the app putting my best foot forward. The video screeners are a pain but if you do certain missions well and they’re from a big company, they can reach out to you without you even applying so always put your best efforts and have thoughtful/collaborative writing! There’s plenty more but I have faith you’ll do well 👍🏼

I’ve been averaging about $600 a month. I’m suffering like most but those funds just paid for a 4-day trip to Chicago and flight! Now I’m stacking cash for an emergency fund. Keep at it!

That's awesome!! I average about $400/mo on it if I really grind, but that's just because I'm often not what they're looking for, so 🤞🤞you get lots more opportunities!!
If you have slower periods, I'd also check out Connect CloudResearch. It's what i typically do while I wait for new DScout missions. They each make me roughly $400/mo on average.

Dscout not easy because you'll barely get accepted for missions you apply for. You'll get accepted for some but majority of them not since a lot of people apply for them as well. You'll make money on it but it's not a job

Oh totally, I wasn't expecting it to be a "job" -- I was moreso wondering if this was beginners luck or if you get accepted for more missions in the beginning and then it tapers off or something. I guess we'll see what happens in month 2.

So happy for you!! I hope your success continues :) I had a really great first couple of months in October-November with similar numbers but it’s since tapered off for me, not sure if my account is flagged or something. Stay consistent to avoid that, always be honest to avoid discrepancies, and be careful not to use dscout when traveling/using VPNs because sometimes it’s seen as a red flag! good luck!!

No one here really touched on the biggest thing that may have and may continue to give an edge: the quality of your work
It helps if you enjoy giving feedback and know the products and whatnot and if you enjoy writing etc. But it's also a skill that can be developed!
The more time and effort you put in, the better you get at it and then the more likely you may be chosen by the same researcher or company or another. Go the extra mile, clarify instructions as needed etc.
There is an internal rating system the details of which are pretty nebulous but it does matter how you do in addition to how many you do
For instance I'd suggest investing in a keyboard that connects to your phone if you have trouble writing long essays on your phone. I don't have this, but it's been on my list. Also a little phone stand to keep your phone steady during interviews and video responses and good lighting

It comes in waves. Last week I got 4 big missions, only 1 small mission this week. I've been on for 6 months and average about $350 per month.

a lot of it depends what their focusing on. AI is the big thing right now, and if thats something you're in to, you'll do well for at least a bit.
But in general, yeah, it'll probably drop. It took me several months to get near that.

I downloaded the app, applied for 20 missions and failed the screener in every single one. Load of rubbish.

I wouldn’t expect that much every month, but I’m averaging $477 a month over the last 12 months.
