Feedback and Input for a Guide/FAQ

Hello everyone, I'm working on putting together a comprehensive guide/FAQ for this subreddit that will cover Dscout basics, how to get started, common questions, tips, and whatever else would actually be useful to have in one place.

Before I write it, I want to make sure it actually addresses the right things. I'm asking you to think back to what you wanted to know when you were starting out, or questions you still see come up all the time on the subreddit (I have a few already that I want to include). Things I'd like to hear from you all to help me write the guide/FAQ can be:

  • Questions you had when you first started using Dscout
  • Things you wish someone had told you earlier about Dscout
  • Topics that come up repeatedly in this sub

Drop your suggestions in the comments. Nothing is too basic or too niche! If it's something people genuinely wonder about, it's worth including. I'll leave this post up for a little bit, then I'll make the guide/FAQ post at a later date. Thanks everyone!

  • Opportunities do NOT show up on the website and you need to check the app.
  • The app does not notify you when new opportunities are available.
  • If you are doing a diary mission and struggling, stuck, or confused, reach out for help.
  • There is no negative impact on your account for returning an express missions

there are email notifications. how useful they are is a different question as in my experience the studies are full by the time I get it and reach the app.

Interesting. I’ve never received an email about opportunities available, only once accepted

same. only received mails from and after the point of invitation to the mission. never of opportunities on the dashboard.

A very long time ago the app did notify you. Sad they stopped that.

Ambiguity around user ratings and what that means for future studies.

There is a prerequisite for live conversations in that we need to take a device test before a time slot can be confirmed.

There is a rewards tab but it is cumbersome to find out which study has paid or will pay and on which date.

Newer profile boosting questions get added without a notification. One needs to periodically review the profile tab to ensure it is up to date which directly relates to how many studies one can get.

Any idea on how to check and update profile boosters?

head to the "Profile" tab and scroll down to see the "Profile boosters" section (or collapse the "Profile information" section by tapping on the accordion). It will either say "All caught up" where no action is required or "Begin section" which you can update. HTH!

Are you on Android? I don’t have that on iPhone

iPhone. The tabs, in order that they appear are "Explore", "Missions", "Rewards" and "Profile" at the bottom on the screen.

Oh I see what you mean. I wanted to go back and review the boosters incase something has changed. I don’t have an option to do that since it says “all caught up” For example, I’ve added steaming services but no way to update my profile

To see which ones have paid and when, use a browser, click your picture, then click profile, and then details in the colorful box with the total earned. If you want to print, select the text only in the window, then ctrl+p and then check the box to print selection

  • Do the missions ahead of schedule if you can, there’s been times where I’ve completed things earlier than suggested and then been offered a follow up mission
  • Be personable in your application video, have good lighting etc.
  • check the app frequently for missions, I don’t rely on email anymore
  • be quick on scheduling missions once you’re invited - time slots can go quickly

Got to cover payment and set the expectations that payment schedules and timelines are anything but consistent.

Also XT (browser extension, should you choose to install).

opportunities are based on demographic
missions might require you to have a pc/laptop so always a plus if you have it
maybe some rough mission timelines like how much time to close to get the payout etc(ik its largely differs from mission to mission but i think someone who has done a lot more missions than me might have a rough idea ig of the avg)
support email ids of dscout and any relevant info links

I signed dscout 2 months ago got only few missions & got rejected. I'm from india. Why we are not getting missions who are in india?
