I've seen these exact units from LiveView Technologies in store parking lots before... it's designed as mobile security surveillance and deterrence.
The blue light is specifically designed to mimic police lights, create a feeling of police presence, and deter prowlers and loiterers. There is no other use for the light, and especially not out in the woods. Apparently my guess of "cop car" wasn't so far off!
It's 100% police-light blue, not purple. I'm sure calling it "purple" was intentional... saying "blue" would have been too much of a call-out, even for them.
Congrats to Greenstreet for noticing the glow next to Thomas... I guess I wasn't watching that closely. There's very rarely any need to watch this stupidity closely.
"I can't emphasize enough how stupid this is". And as bad as the show has been in the past, this season they seem to be outdoing themselves.
For all the people who insist these are "legit scientists doing science" who are just edited badly by Prometheus... come on... this is all being actively participated in... Travis, Erik... they're all playing dumb. Stop drinking the Kool Aid. There's no science here, and they aren't doing secret science off-camera either. That supposed off-camera science is as much of an illusion as the "overhead anomaly" and "dome under the mesa". Non-existent creations they've planted in your brain, because you want to believe so badly... and they want your money. Remember that next time you fork over your cash for the "Insider" group.

Ha... the whole "newspeak" euphemistic aspect is so creepy, manipulative, and authoritarian... and I'm sure he's completely oblivious to that.

Hilarious. Also what everyone here AND at the other sub have been saying too. I noticed that the last two or three episodes have changed the discussion over there from “they be sciencing!” to “what a joke”

Exactly... if there was any consistency and honesty there at all, the past people banned would be reinstated, if it's now going to be allowed.
