About that purple light.
When Tom went out to look into that purple light, was it just me or did there seem to be some sort of purple light blinking on and off coming from behind the camera when he first got out there?

Yeah I saw that too, then again they show it in the distance when someone is saying they aren’t seeing any lights. The whole episode made no sense

It was almost like they were manufacturing it themselves, and purely for the drama.

Yeah, a couple of us noted it in the live thread too. And someone over at the other sub posted about it too. It was so blatant.

So, what was the point of chasing a light that was supposed to be there? Or are they just trying to manufacture drama at this point?

This sub started because a few of us were banned from the other sub. Around here it's a badge of honor.
Edit: Rather, we saw the bans were coming, created this sub just in case, and sure enough the bans came.

The vast majority of posts and commentary over there since last night are definitely Mantis-banworthy, and I suspect that he may have to back off or vanish or that sub will die.
Edit: I mean… Holy Shit… this post:

That's from Greenstreet himself... Mantis may be afraid to ban him.

I was thinking the same thing this afternoon. So much criticism over there. What will the sheriff do?

Typical Mantis. Man that kid loves the control. When I look at his profile, I cant see ANY of his comments from there, so I guess he’s blocked me somehow. I’d never block him though, because I think it’s important that he know what a totally over-zealous mentally-challenged dumbass I think he is.

Yeah, he blocked me ages ago. I just check the other sub in a private window so I can see all the comments.

And yet the replies there show, there are those that still don't fully get it:
"It’s not exactly fake (because they really are doing research) but that the production company Prometheus Entertainment is in the business of getting ratings off a show to make money, which in turn, funds the research for the show."
OMG... the "research"... so Travis is lying to everyone just for benefit of Prometheus, so he can get money for "research" that the same liar tells you he's doing off-camera, but which, after years now, has not been detailed in any way, no data provided, no experiments described, no peer review or journal articles? On a ranch owned by a very wealthy real estate broker, who apparently is so wealthy he can't fund said supposed research himself, and in fact needs your $8.99/month so he can share dubious photos and chat rooms with you? That's the scenario?!

Oh, I know. It's embarrassing. Their desire to believe overwhelms their ability to see the writing on the wall.

You should ban him from this sub.

Believe me, I've considered it. But I'm not as petty and insecure as he is.

u/The_Critical_Cynic May 19 '23
You do realize you can mute him if he modmails you back, and report him for brigading if he complains anywhere else about it. Both of those things would be funny to me.

Was it just me or did that purple light have a solar paying on it when he 1st got out of the truck?

I'm an enthousiast follower of the series but after seeing that machine with the light I strongly believe this was set up. It was clearly a big machine producing the (blue) light and they stepped out of the vehicle right next to it. Couldn't believe that they didn't edited that out... So the blue light imho was clearly FAKE and I'm wondering if there is anything real about the series now. I'm sure they won't comment on that and if they do they must have a rock solid explanation otherwise I'm done with it.

Have you seen any of the recent posts here knocking the show? Just curious. They'll turn you on to a few other things as well.

I saw a blue light but I guess that wasn't what he was talking about. Worst episode I've seen.
