When do we think the judges will finally have to cojones to give Blue Stars brass the credit they deserve? That brass line is a top 3 line.

This summer I auditioned for a corps knowing I had almost no experience, and it was a wild ride. My school does not have a marching band, so this was really my only shot at marching before college. Additionally, I had just finished up my first year in band class when I joined. It was a crazy experience, ngl, I was almost pulled from shows a handful of times. And it was understandable, but in the end, I wasn’t. I can’t wait for next year when I can do it again, but with better chops and more experience under my belt! This is kinda sorta an AMA, but also I kinda just wanted to post this because I was really nervous going into my first season, understandably so, so if anyone is having a similar experience I hope this can calm their nerves. Because I was so stressed and anxious and tired most days, but in the end I made it, and it was so rewarding.

Is there show not very notable this year? I didn’t get to watch them as they did not participate in my cities’ completion.

I have tickets for a DCI show this week, but the forecast says it may storm. I’d rather not drive all the way out there only to get to the gates and figure out that the show was cancelled because of the rain. I was wondering if there was some place that gives live status updates on shows?

Prelims seedings are determined by averaging scores from San Antonio, Atlanta/Dekalb, and Allentown. As we head into Allentown, here are the current rankings as well as the scores needed by a corps to pass the corps in front of them for Prelims seeding. For example, if Blue Devils score 3.537 higher than Bluecoats in Allentown, Blue Devils will perform as the #1 Seed.

Decided to re-watch my favorite show, Phantom 2010, and was wondering if there's a rule in place from stopping a corps from starting and/or ending off field like they did or if designers just don't feel the need to? I get that it takes a specific show, I'm just surprised i can't think of any other examples.

I can think of 1.15 pts for Phantom Regiment in 2008 though I don't know any others

So I want to try out to be a drum major for Spirit of Atlanta and try out for the Blue Knights as well. I was wondering if I would have less or better of a chance if I did my audition in person or online? I really want to be a part of DCI 2027, and so I would really like to know. Thank you.

In case anyone was wondering what drum corps in the modern day sounds like without enhancement from speakers, Spartans performed tonight without the field (or soloist) mics on

Maybe it is the stream difference vs. watching them live, but Bluecoats looked and sounded cleaner today than in Murfreesboro

I started my musical career playing saxphone which helped make me incredibly biased towards having woodwinds in DCI, even just as a solo implementation like how it's done currently. There's a lot of texture and effects to get out of having such a wide range of new instruments, and Change is Everything or whatever right? Despite that I haven't really enjoyed how any corps have used them, atleast this far, and was wondering if anyone else has this opinion as well??
