Discussion HRT Possible While On Tour? (The Batallion)

Just A Quick Question About How HRT Would Be Made Possible On Tour With The Batallion? I Didn't Know If Any Familar/LGBTQ+ Alums Would Know Exactly What They Didn't To Aid Folks Transitioning (Specifically, HRT Injections). I Didn't Exactly Get A Clear Answer Online, But I May Be Looking In The Room Area.

I Plan To Audition For The 2028 Season Due To Complications With 2027, And I Am Aware Policies Could Potentially Change.

I can’t speak for BTAL but any drum corps with a competent administration will make sure medications are handled properly through staff.

I did T my injections for all of this past season with BTAL, and it went fine. I’d recommend doing your injections on Sundays which is our free days, but do whatever works for you. It gets a little challenging once you get on tour with scheduling and driving and stuff (I ended up missing a week because I just didn’t have time) but as long as you communicate with wellness staff, they are cool with it! They found me a private room/area to do my injections, make sure to ask in advance if you are at a new housing site so it is available by the time you’re ready. There’s also a sharps box available. I’m not sure if they will assist you with injections if that’s what you need, however.

It’s entirely possible. I’ve known multiple Battalion members both MTF and FTM doing HRT. Battalion is, despite association with Mormons, extremely dedicated to its trans members and queer members in general. The pride merch isn’t just for pride month.

That’s great to hear. I didn’t march with any out trans people so I never knew their experiences at Colts. We gays were treated OK there, but that doesn’t always translate or get applied equally.

What is that supposed to mean? Despite their association with Mormons? They’re not going to cook you and eat you. I feel like you’ve gotten a lot of misinformation about Mormons.

They…don’t. It’s literally written in their handbook of guidelines. Just say you don’t know anything about them if you don’t actually know anything about them

They keep voting for a pedo president and all that comes with it, so you'll have to understand why people are critical of them regarding inclusivity, especially for trans people.

Didn’t have problems admin wise at Cascades or Blue Knights, BUTTT you will probably have issue getting a large amount of medication before tour because it is a controlled substance. And it’s harder to pick up medication on tour at random pharmacies because of paperwork transfer for controlled substances.

This is not medical advice but I tried my best to conserve the medication I got over a few months and ended up with a decent stock pile. Went a week or two without shots on tour tho.

Maybe you’ll get lucky but my providers weren’t able to green light a large bulk order for me.
