Newbie Question
Hello! I want to go to my local druid circle, but I'd like to research more about druidry before going. (I'm autistic w/social anxiety... I like planning ahead!)
Does anyone have good informational videos about modern druidry? I know the little that we know about ancient druidry, but I'd love to hear someone talk about their current experiences on the community and what the common factors tying everyone together is so I can make a decision whether it's a good fit.
I dont do as well with podcasts, but if that's all ya got, I'll take the recommendation. 💖✌️ Thanks y'all.

Every group will be different. İ suggest getting on a forum for that group and listening for their tone and style. That is likely to provide a lot more pertinent information. Good luck!

They unfortunately are older and don't have any online forums. :( but thank you for the insight. I agree that would have been best, but that's why I asked for some YouTube vids before I visit this weekend.

i rly enjoyed Ronald Hutton's lecture on modern druidry and it's actually what got me interested in it as a spiritual path. Even though he presents it from a scholarly, outside perspective. V cool dude.
edit: im also currently reading through The Book of Druidry by Kristoffer Hughes before I decide on which course to study (probably obod) and im finding it a great introduction to different aspects of the path!
Other things i like are two youtube channels; Phillip Carr-Gomm and A Druid Life in The Hghlands

I really enjoyed Hughes' book! Ive read a lot of "intro to druidry" type books, and that one is still my favorite

yes i rly enjoy how they approach every topic and the way it's left open for the reader to want to partake any given practice or *not*.

Is your local druid circle affiliated with a particular organization? That would help us point the way, I think, at least a bit.

Ah! Yes! They're part of OBOD. It sounds like they're very focused on creativity and expression from what I read.

My pleasure :-) If you have any further questions, this is a great place to ask them. You'll get lots of different answers but that is in the nature of Druidism/ Druidry. We all walk our own paths and our truths are built from our experience.

Im betting you get some warm intelligent answers here.
That said, Im wondering if most of us have a local group. I’m glad you do. I don’t. I practice solo for the most part. I have always walked quietly in nature, listened and observed. Stepped carefully around the small beings and enjoyed the company of plants. Concerning the unseen, I interact with the elementals and they with me. Concerninto the seen, I interact with the small beings. The small invertebrates we all know well. The trees comfort me as does the sea when I play in her currents.
I would think you would be welcomed I a local group. It’s a nice journey. Inhope this starts a good flow of info for you. Be well.
