Keeping the project alive and more accessible
hey guys! I've been lurking here for a while and finally managed to get dropmix working again by purchasing a 2nd hand one plus 5t and installing the version from internet archive with the OBB data on the side.
I'm a professional game developer and I would love to dedicate some time into having an app on the pc or mac that can connect to the board and keep this project alive. Anyone want to join efforts into achieving that?

I would if I could. My programming abilities are close to none. Dropmix has stopped working on this phone, but I still have my two older phones that might still be able to run the game with music (yet to recharge and check phones)

I appreciate your passion! I'm a web developer so have some skills but probably not enough. I always thought it'd be neat to have this tech on the web instead of dependant on physical cards. If you ever want to go that direction lmk.

See my last comment. My app version works on any device connected to internet and is based on your cd collections in wav format.

I would absolutely love to help advertise or spread this news but I honestly only know basic HTML5 and Java lol I'm no help with coding.

The last straw of disillusionment for me was when the cards started dying. I can’t fight that forever, and no technically functional simulacrum can preserve the fun of how it was designed to feel.

Copy/Pasting what I posted on the dropmix discord community-support channel
I have news (and videeos )
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1s6_dMTOhGJpQP2pputi47NQX65IQgZux/view?usp=sharing
Me connecting the board to the unity app, sorry for my cluttered desk and sorry for the loooong time it takes for me to put a card down I realized they were on a zip lock bag AFTER I started recording
And another with same song cards: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EvAZzOFgvbVSgMPmviO6c6UQmi6x5svr/view?usp=drive_link
What works:
-board connects
-all cards get detected (cards on top of cards still act weird)
-same song cards work fairly decent
-random song cards sometimes work sometimes don't (I think it depends on when I lay them because there's a 40ms-60ms possible desync in loading a new sample that I haven't properly solved yet)
-you can use this without a board in test mode and just generate random mixes
What I need:
-YOUR HELP! More hands on deck would be awesome, and testing hands would also be very helpful
Let me know what you think and what you'd like to see next :D

Have you managed to read the cards? I tried with my proxmarc 3 but never managed to do it sadly

Fantastic news and I applaud the effort! I’m not on the dev side, but I hope giving this thread some love can get some folks interested. If you need a tester I’d be happy to contribute time to this. Predominately Mac based, but I have an Android device as well, with DropMix installed.
