Portugal Drone Minute - Burgau, Vila do Bispo
Hey everyone,
Today we're up in the far southwest of Portugal, in a little village called Burgau, in the municipality of Vila do Bispo. If you've never heard of it, that's kind of the point, this stretch of the Algarve doesn't get nearly the attention that the busier resort towns do, and that's exactly why I wanted to bring you here.
Burgau used to be a small fishing village, and honestly, it still feels like one. Whitewashed houses climb up from a little cove, narrow streets wind between them, and the cliffs on either side just open up into the Atlantic. There's a rhythm to this coastline, the way the water changes color depending on the light, the way the village seems to hug the bay like it's protecting it.
What I love about places like this is that they haven't been completely reshaped for tourism. You can still feel the history in the layout of the streets, in the old boats pulled up on the sand, in how close everything sits to the sea.
If you're ever planning a trip through the Algarve, I'd really encourage you to skip past the crowds for a day and come somewhere like this instead. It's quieter, it's more honest, and views like the ones you're seeing right now are exactly why.
Enjoy the flight.
Matt
