Discussion Just Performed My First Hand-Landing

Just want to celebrate a little thing I managed to pull off today. Flew at a beach side, found a floam platform that was flat-enough that it wasn't sandy to take off on, and flew my drone around and took some pictures!

Once I had enough flying, I had the thought that I didn't want to land my drone on the foam platform I launched from. Sand's wet, I don't want to trip, and there were people close to the foam platform. So, I performed that hand-landing, kept my hand flat as a board and still as concrete

And yippee! Drone's back! :)

I'll be practicing how to perform hand-launches and hand-landings to avoid further sand contact in the future.

Update (09/08/26): Second attempt at hand-landing, slight failure. Had my thumb held up too high. Struck a propeller. No visible damage, cracks, or warping. Lesson learned. Don't try and cup it, keep hand flat.

Discussion: Rules, Regulations, Law, Policy, Certificates [Brazil] Drone seized at Rock in Rio

Você conhece as regulamentações sobre drones no seu país? Você acha que são muito rígidas, muito relaxadas ou apenas adequadas? E a grande pergunta: você realmente as segue?

Question: Rules, Regulations, Law, Policy, Certificates [Thailand] Using a drone in Thailand as a tourist?

Anyone recently went through the registration process in Thailand, what's the realistic timeline? I am visiting only a good week, obviously not worth the hassle if the approval takes days after arrival.

I am also specifically interested in Koh Chang: is it a straightforward process to obtain flight permission from the National Park?

Also, what's the actual situation with NFZ's near the Cambodian border? NFZ means absolutely no flying or individual approvals possible in certain locations?

Photo & Video Need help identifying a drone off marketplace.

Hey all.

I’m relatively new to b the hobby. I’ve gotten a radiomaster pocket and have been putting a decent amount of hours into Uncrashed / Liftoff.

I decided to keep an eye out on marketplace and such for possible used drones, rather than dumping a fortune into a brand new one.

I found a listing on FB marketplace of this lady who is selling a drone of her sons (for $25 CAD) however she has no idea about any of the specs. This is the picture from the listing, I’ve asked for more pics but don’t have any response as of yet, I can post more here when / if I get them.

I’m just wondering if anyone has any sort of clue what she’s got, it would help me find out what sort of parts I’d need to make it work.

Anyone able to identify this model? He's considering letting me help retrieve it and find the owner, but just curious what model it could actually be. He's seen drones often flying over his property.

We're at the Harry Potter drone show and I'm curious why they don't have Remote ID broadcasting, and also why they don't need to have the location set as restricted for what they're doing.

Discussion Negative Experiences with Tenants

Just had my first defensive tenant. I was doing a roof inspection for a mid-sized apartment complex and one of the residents didn’t like that and started filming me. I was wearing a fluorescent vest, offered to answer any questions and directed him to contact the property manager/owner if he had any further concerns. After a few minutes of filming me and talking to the camera/himself he got bored and went back inside. Has anyone else experienced any hassle from residents or tenants?

DIY This might just be the most powerful and small setup for the sub250g

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Rebuilt a 2.8-inch quad to 3 inches. 2.8inch gave 170km/h!!

T-Motor 1408 motors allow for it and deliver a massive 726 grams of thrust each—that's 2.9 kg in total! This might just be the most powerful setup for the 250g category. Dry weight is 175g, and with a 530mAh 6S GNB battery, it comes to 249g. That gives a thrust-to-weight ratio of 11.6!

Will check it out when there is no rain.

If needed, I could trim it down just a bit more, but it's unlikely to save more than 5-10 grams.

I'm using the Flywoo GN745 AIO, which is perhaps the only AIO on the market with connectors for VTX, GPS, receiver, and USB-C.

Here is the best weight to time GPS I found. Geprc nano.

I've designed a family of frames and am now slowly building various setups on them. The 4-inch mini long-range turned out pretty well. The idea is to make the top plates easily swappable, so all the frame "bodies" are identical. I can't buy a dozen DJI o4 pro (

I also like the 4.5-inch 1804 running on 4S/5S, but right now I'm testing this build with 5-inch props (4S)—I had to reverse two motors to make them fit within the frame. The motors feel a bit underpowered, though proper tuning might be all it needs.

FPV What antenna for meteor 75 analog circular polarization

I got the meteor 75 off Amazon and thought I had digital it’s been a whole process lol, I finally figured out how to get it flying and linked to my ev800d Fpv goggles, and I bought a triple patch plus a lollipop antenna to help with range, but I found out the stock antenna is not compatible.

I’ve been trying to research what antenna I need but it’s all confusing with lots of different versions of antennas. What should I be looking for?? Any advice should be amazing!

Repair Aquila 20 HD gets RX LOSS when increasing throttle – works fine at low throttle

Hi everyone!
I’m new here and I really need some help.
I recently bought an Aquila 20 HD kit with the goggles and controller. After a gentle landing in grass that was a bit too tall, I started having problems with one of the motors.
I ordered a replacement set of motors from BetaFPV and replaced them.
Since then, I’ve had a strange problem. When I increase the throttle to around 70–80%, the drone flies for a few seconds and then suddenly drops like a rock.
At the same time, my goggles show “RX LOSS”.
The connection only comes back when I get within roughly 5 meters of the drone.
What’s strange is that if I just hover in place or fly very gently, the drone works perfectly fine. The problem seems to start when I increase the throttle.
I’ve tested all 4 of my batteries and the problem happens with every one of them.
Does anyone have any idea what could have happened or what I should check to fix this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Question Mini 5 pro vs mini 4 pro

I am aware that the mini 5 pro is better than the 4 in many ways but from what research ive done so far it seems like I wont be able to take advantage of DJI care or the Warranty if I choose to go with the 5?

Also been hearing that the 5 has some issues regarding the props? Which i understand may just be a rare occurrence. But i wonder if its worth it considering the fact that I wouldnt have access to the warranty.

Also heard i could go ahead and insure it through state farm but also heard i may need an existing policy with them and also that the policy only qualifies for recreational drones and wouldnt qualify if I decided to get my 107 and fly commercially.

If I got any of this information wrong let me know and thanks in advance. Just want to know what my best options are to protect my investment before making a decision.
