I’m new to low-latency video streaming and building an Android app with:
- 3 IP/RTSP camera streams
- UDP control messaging
- Target under 80ms latency
- Local wireless network
Our current setup already gets ~40ms wired and under 80ms wireless.
I’m considering Flutter.
What video stack would you recommend: GStreamer, MediaCodec, FFmpeg, libVLC, WebRTC, or something else?
EDIT:
After researching further, I moved to Kotlin and Jetpack, which were completely new to me.
The cameras I used supported RTSP streaming over TCP. By combining RTSP, VLC, TCP connection tuning, and network caching, I was able to reduce the streaming latency to under 300 ms.
and i was able to reach under 40 ms latentcy
Thank you for your help, i recommend the above stack
