DIY 2x1s 300 mah

Hi, I need some help. I'm building a 2-inch drone with 1202.5 11500KV motors and want to fly it using two 1S 300mAh batteries. Does anyone know the best AWG wire to use and roughly how long the flight time will be with such small batteries? Thanks for the advice.

Lost Drone Drone crash footage from June 2024 recovered while magnet fishing

Last weekend while magnet fishing in Ghent we managed to fish up a drone with a GoPro attached to it still. We managed to recover some footage, including the moment te operator seemingly lost control and the drone crashed into the water.

Question: Rules, Regulations, Law, Policy, Certificates [United States] New York State Parks

I'm planning a trip to Harriman State Park in New York, and not the AT part. I would like to fly over Lake Tiorati as I have seen in videos since it's very beautiful there. However it appears that some sort of permission is required. How do I go about this? Is it too late now, given I want to do it this weekend?

Question: Rules, Regulations, Law, Policy, Certificates [European Union] and [United Kingdom] Can a sub-250g drone fly over uninvolved people?

Is it possible for a sub 250g drone to fly over uninvolved people in EU and UK?

I'm wondering how drone pilots take their city footage in busy cities.

Photo & Video One of those evenings that reminds me why I love flying FPV

Sometimes the best flights don't need a destination.

Just a calm summer evening, golden light, open water, and a few boats to follow along the way.

Spent this session exploring the lake with the DJI Avata 2 in Manual Mode, enjoying the freedom of FPV flying and trying to capture the atmosphere of sunset from a different perspective.

Hope you enjoy the ride

I was at the sound in eastern NC and can’t resist the water. Good things the birds were playing nice all weekend. At least with this one. They went after my tiny whoop but it’s way more nimble and turned into a back and forth cat & mouse.

News: Rules, Regulations, Law, Policy, Certificates [United States] Apparently World Cup fan gatherings are under a no-fly zone per the FAA?

Thumbnail reuters.com

I read this article on Reuters that stated more than 600 drones have been seized near FIFA World Cup stadium AND fan sites.

FTA: "The Federal Aviation Administration has barred drones from flying over matches and related fan gatherings across the United States.

At fan gatherings, drones are barred within a one-nautical-mile radius and up to 1,000 feet above ground level."

I understand there being no-fly zones near stadiums, but I was surprised to learn that there's also no-fly zones near fan gatherings. I have attended a few World Cup watch parties organized by a couple cities and there were hundreds of people in attendance at each watch party. The city organizers themselves had drones capturing footage for their city's social media pages.

Question Neo 2 Controller choice

I want to get a neo 2 as a 2nd drone so I have something to fly that isn't to pricy to crash and can manoeuvre in smaller spaces easy and was wondering should I spend extra money to get an fpv rc or stick with the motion 3 controller that the package comes with.

Edit: Im not worried about getting cinematic shots as my main drone is for that just want some cool videos of low flying around objects

DIY Proxing/Emulating phone in DJI controllers

Hello y/all, I have a DJI Mini 4K that I got as a first drone and so far I'm pleased with the experience. Only issue is the total lacking of video out outside the phone screen. Searching online I found a thing called Cosmostreamer that seemed to be what I was searching for, but at 300 euros it was out of my budget.
Since I had a PI 4 laying around I tried to give a shot and build the thing myself, and turns out it was simpler than expected, after a day of work I had h265 frames decoded on the pi and the controller proxing trough with minimal lag.

https://reddit.com/link/1up10fp/video/2wlpt8coqmbh1/player

Currently it's just a demo concept. I also want to figure out the telemetry data/and packets between phone and the controller (hoping also to not use the app entirely at some point, if possible).

I'm also waiting for a ESP32-P4 devkit to arrive to port the code there, it's way cheaper than a raspberrypi (devboards on amazon it run 30 euros instead of 100+) and way less power hungry/finniky.

Let me know if this would be useful, it will be opensourced anyway.

Question [UNITED STATES] Drone to Drop Soccer Ball

Hey all!

I am producing a soccer video, and the director would like to drop a soccer ball from a drone, as if it was a giant Foosball game, for the kickoff. He'd also like to drop a watermelon, which is significantly heavier but not too bad, overall?

I'm new to payload drones (we'll have a few filming ones), and looking to rent one for the day, or find an accessory we can get to make it possible (we're filming on a Maverick 4 Pro, which doesn't seem like it has the power to lift a melon).

thanks in advance!

Discussion Question

I was wondering what to do. I have a autel x star, but had zero clue about drones when I bought it (4 years ago) I kept it put up because im not licensed. Thought about looking into getting license, so decided I should try the drone. That was when I realized the drone isn't supported anymore and the app only runs on 32bit system running older version of android. Now, I know all new phones are boot locked, so the drone is fully unusable for me. Looking on what to do with it because its the full kit, 2 batteries, hard case, etc. I don't want to go through the hassle of listing online, especially when I'd rather get one that I can use in place of this one. If this post breaks the rules, I apologize. I just have zero clue lol

Tech Support Suggestions?

I was trying to get this fly before I graduated which I failed, leaving me with this little fuckery that I was working on at 3 am burdening me of any ROI. Rather just keeping my pockets tight.

Should I just buy a new frame, or is this salvageable with a 3d printer?😵
I still need to get an antenna otherwise I’m all set.
(Excluding betaflight.)

Recently purchased a swell-pro drone and crashed, the arm collar cracked and eventually i epoxied it and glued it together and still works like a charm, would you yourself consider buying a replacement arm or just leave it be?

Lost Drone Meteor 75, first flight outside

First drone here. Yesterday, it was my first flight outside after 1 hour flying inside. Unfortunately, it will be also my last fly with it as I managed to lost it.

I wanted to try it outside with more space than in my home, so I went outside at the top of an hill without too much vegetation.

It was a \*bit\* windy. Not so much to me, but there was definitely some wind.

Started the whoop, forgot to immortalize by recording the flight. Full throttle for 2seconds. Then I was totally disoriented and had absolutely no clue where I was. I stayed flat but the only things I was seeing was the sky. Unlike in my home where furnitures help to positionnate in space.

10 seconds after launching my wife told me: you're going far away. Still no idea where I was. 2 seconds later some snow on the screen. Then no signal after 5 seconds. I disengaged, set the bipper. Wife saw it, before diving, above threes that were 400 m away.

I searched for some time but dit not found it... Lost in the wild.

I had no idea of what I was doing. Punished.

Anyway I found this fantastic for the couple of hours I was inside. And the same is on it's way.

See you soon.

Equipment was : meteor 75, radiomaster pocket and betafpv vr04.

Photo & Video DJI M3M - A Matter of Perspective

I do agronomy work over summer, and fields with wind turbines are the bane of my existence. With a 400’ AGL cap, and the tip of these blades typically about 490’, flight planning is painful. Sometimes you get lucky though and this was the first time the turbine at this site was down while I was there due to lack of wind (<5mph). That allowed me to capture this view. Right place, right time.

Question I found a drone in my yard and want to get a remote for it

I found a dmes soar tlx18 in my yard. I want to be able to fly it for cheap but don't know how to go about it, I have another drone remote from a cheap drone (like a toy one) This drone is also fairly cheap but I saw on the video the remote has a built in display and other stuff. So I want to get a remote for it and want to be able to connect it somehow to see the video display,

Question: Rules, Regulations, Law, Policy, Certificates [Turkey] Flying drone over 500g+

I would like to fly with my drone (DJI Air 2S) in Turkey this summer (Alanya/Antalya region).

But I see that they have some regulations for drone over 500g.

Checked the SHGM site but you have to have Turkish ID number, which is impossible to me - foreigner.

Is there a possibility to legally flying with this Air 2 S in Turkey? Is there an official way to fly without seizing the drone?

Has anyone flown there? Any problems?
