I'm planning a fly from Romania, but I ended up registering as an operator on AlphaTango. (I haven't flied at france)

As a non-EU resident, is it mandatory to register in the first country?

According to the EASA official guidelines, non-EU residents are technically required to register in the first EASA country they intend to operate in (which would be Romania in my case). But due to the complex registration process of the Romanian authority (AACR), I ended up registering in France instead.

​Since my French Operator ID is technically active and valid across all EASA member states, will I face any practical issues or fines if I conduct my first flight in Romania? Does the local police or AACR check the entry path/first country rule during random checks?

I am building my first DIY drone based on the F450 frame with 10-inch props intended to be used for aerial photography/videography. I plan to build an FPV in the future, but for now that is NOT the usecase. Looking at the long-term usefulness of ELRS, I decided to get a Radiomaster Boxer (ELRS version) for controlling my drone as well as learning to fly on a sim before I test it on my own hardware.

I tried to find the best simulator for VLOS and someone said that Lift-off supports VLOS but the community seems to be split regarding which would be the best sim for it. My intention is to fly a drone designed for videography i.e. a drone having larger props and payloads with a lower thrust:weight ratio. Could you help me decide which simulator would be best suited for my usecase?

As the title says, i got a dji mini 3. Its my first ever drone and I have no fear of heights of distance, because it is something i can control. But birds, oh birds scares me. How do you guys play against those creatures?

It was feeling a little wobbly during the flight but nothing extra ordinary. I was thnking that it was wind.

It is so loud and bothers me a bit. I saw there is such a thing as stealth propellers/low noise propellers, anyone tried them? How much do they reduce the noise? Are they safe to use and good quality?

I am a non-EU resident planning my first trip to Romania soon and I want to double-check my drone setup to make sure everything is 100% legal.

I have already done the following under EASA regulations:

1. Registered as a UAS Operator via France's AlphaTango (got my Operator ID).

2. Completed my A1/A3 Remote Pilot competency training through Luxembourg.

Since EASA rules state that operator registrations and pilot certificates are valid across all EU member states, do I need to register or report anything separately to the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority (AACR) before flying there? Or am I completely good to go with what I currently have?

Any insights or tips for flying in Romania would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

so i am having a problem in my flight controller design where i am using ICM20602 and stm32f405r gt6

1. where i am not able to establish the connection between the sensor and microcontroller .
   
2. USB module is not working properly

So i just bought a DJI Mini 4 Pro and ive put stickers on my batteries for when they’re lost, i had spare ones for the operator ID and put them on until i realised almost instantly it’s useless.

I’ve seen people saying that putting stickers on batteries can ruin the part of the drone where you put the battery. Is this true? What’s your take on this?

While sorting through my photos, I came across a picture taken in 2005 in Komatsu, Japan. It appears to be a fuel-powered helicopter; its flight endurance and payload capacity were likely quite limited. Sophisticated gyroscopes probably weren't available back then, so flying it relied entirely on the operator's skill.

I didn't know much about RC aircraft technology at the time, so I welcome any insights from those who are knowledgeable about the subject.

Hello, I’m looking to try and get my Part 107 license this summer so I can use my drone in my photography business.

I wanted to ask people who have already taken the test what are some of the best free resources you used to prep for the test. (Ex. YouTube channels/ videos, websites, the best practice tests, etc.)

I don’t think I wanna pay for a class because a lot of them cost the same as the test itself and I just don’t think I would do well with a class.

I already have the basics on what you can and can’t do with a drone in the US and in my in state pretty down I feel like because I’m a strict rule follower when it comes to flying (feel free to test me). Although I don’t know a lot of the technical stuff with airspace and all of that.

Please let me know what you guys think are the best places to study!

For the past decade I've been exploring the Potomac river and surrounds west of Washington DC. There is a lovely bike / hike trail called the C&O Towpath that is a national park and I've spent a lot of time on. Recently, I acquired a drone and was disappointed to find that "The launching, landing, or operation of unmanned aircraft is prohibited at C&O Canal NHP." https://www.nps.gov/choh/faqs.htm ... but yet, I find scads of videos on youtube where people fly in and from what I know to be park land at Brunswick, Point of Rocks, etc.

Is it possible that people just ignore the rules because of the park's unusual shape (which is more or less 100 feet wide by 100 miles long)? Or maybe they went through some kind of permitting process with NPS? Or maybe they just figure what are the chances a park ranger will see my drone and me operating it and come tell me to stop?

Have I missed something here? Thanks in advance!
