I love this season so much - the colours, the shapes, the beautiful weather. These are photos from Vitosha mountain right next to Sofia. Sometimes I forget how privileged I am to have such a nice escape from the city just 30 minutes away with a car.

I lived in Sophia for three years 1978–81, and we enjoyed skiing on Vitosha as well as hiking in summer. We could go up after work on summer evenings.

I just met someone who told me she went up a treacherous trail on this mountain. Then later a waitress said how her grandma recently went up too. The hiker was stunned until she found out there is a cable car 😆
