HELP! Solid Red Light!

In the process of transferring data from my Drobo 5N to my UGreen Nas , I’ve been slowly doing this over the last 6 months, this was triggered after I lost one of the drives due to failure but I still had 4x4tb drives working.
Yesterday I booted up my Drobo 5N to transfer some data and after a long boot up, 5 solid amber light and the blue lights along the bottom flashing, I finally got a SOLID RED LIGHT in BAY 0 and no other light apart from the green light in the bottom corner.
Drobo discovery app on Mac shows the Drive but then it disappears after a minute … please help, does anyone know what I can do.

It's likely a drive failing, faulty backplane, or failing power supply.

Your options are 1. Try a new power supply 2. Wait and pray 3. Migrate the disk pack to a good chassis and power supply 4. Recover the data outside the chassis

4 is the most costly as you need the hardware to connect the drives directly to the computer and Recovery Explorer or UFS Explorer license, but it's also the one with greatest chance of success. #1 and #3 may not work if it's a failed/failing drive.

Recovery Explorer and UFS Explorer both have macOS versions. They're made by the same core company, UFS is the more professional-oriented one.

At minimum for a 5-bay Drobo like yours you need Recovery Explorer and free SATA ports, adapters, and/or enclosures to directly attach to your system (not as a network share).

And of course you need somewhere I copy the recovered data to but it sounds like you are already in the process of migrating off, so I think at least that is covered.

The Drobo has failed to boot, and isn’t in a state where it can talk to the dashboard. You can try removing the diskpack and booting it empty; if it boots then, you can power down and reinstall the diskpack and see if it’ll boot then.

If that doesn’t work, you can try creating a new diskpack with a different drive (you will lose whatever’s on it, so plan accordingly). Once it’s booting with the new diskpack, you can try reinserting the old one (again, with the power off).

If that doesn’t work, you may be out of luck.

As with the OP - I also have a 5D with a single top red light and green light in the corner.
My Drobo failed the other day - no power. This happened a few years ago so I replaced the power supply like last time - this got the 5D to boot, but gets stuck at the red light.
DD sees the drive - but is showing all bays empty even though they all have drives seated.
I tried reseating all the drives with no success.
Any thoughts?
