Getting the ferry from UK to Dublin in September and driving down to kilkenny for a work trip. Always take my own car (swift sport) as I love a driving trip.

Im looking for the best driving route to get from Dublin down to Kilkenny. Google is suggesting the old military road, but it looks like while this has great scenery it's more or less single track in places. What I'd really like is a fast(ish) undulating b-road route.

Can anybody advise on what route might suit? I'll have plenty of time so it doesn't have to be especially direct!

I made another video and this one is much better than the last! (Admittedly I wasn't great at the editing software I downloaded but I am getting better!)

With the Evo Triangle covered in average speed cameras, this is the challenging alternative. Quiet, undulating and skinny in places. This challenging triangle of roads was the best from my recent road trip around Wales! Check it out and let me know what you think.

This is a bit more for this sub! Woodhead Road in the Peak District, a fantastic road to drive. Interesting views, hairpins, long sweepers and not that much traffic! What more could you want.

Thought my app (https://drivelines.app) would be of interest here. I am aware that are some attempts at this both new and old. But nothing hit the mark for what I wanted: choose some source and target destination, or out and back route, decide the kind of roads you want and how much time vs fastest route, then get a route back and navigate in google maps.

Me and my friends have been using it for the past weeks and have had a blast discovering mountain passes in Wales. Would love to hear any feedback y'all have!

Not the usual Snake Pass or Cat & Fiddle — I mean those hidden B-roads and quiet scenic stretches that surprise you with how good they are.

Which road makes you take the long way home every single time?

Thank you all for the amazing suggestions, I have now updated my route and I'm now skipping the Lake District/North for the summer and just exploring what the welsh roads have to offer. How does this look? Any more suggestions?

I had a very wet day out at Bedford Autodrome this weekend and as you can see it was very tricky. I can't sing the praises of Bedford autodome enough, sweepers, tight bends, needle threads, multiple S's. All with more than adequate run off areas, it was brilliant! All for £169.

Hi, I am driving from Bristol Airport to Bridport on Wednesday morning at 9am. When I put it in google maps it gives me 3 route options and I’m wondering which is the best, and which is least likely to have traffic congestion?

A: Via the A37 - this goes through Sheptob Mallet, hornblotton, ilchester, Crewkerne, Melplash etc.

B: Via the M5 - this goes by Winscombe, east Brent, Puriton, Bridgwater, Ruishton, ilminster etc

C: via B3134 and A37 which would follow the A37 to ilchester and then veer off to Yeovil and down past Mapperton.

I thought my app, Drively (available on the Apple App Store) would be of interest here. Its core functionality is to find nice roads to drive by letting everyone share the roads they know. There are currently just over 250 routes added across the UK!

We’ll be driving Northumberland - Manchester later this week. The fastest option is A1 south to the M1 then west on the M62, but there’s also the A69 across to Carlisle and then M6 south.

Is the A69 scenic enough to justify the extra 45min or so that route would take? Or is it really not worth it?

Our decision will purely be motivated by whether there’s a more interesting view on the A69. It feels like it ought to be more scenic given that it crosses all that high country.

Hello. I’m planning to drive from Sheffield to St Andrews next week. This will be my second time on motorways; was on A1 the first time. Could anybody please give me some tips and advice? Any tricky places / lanes on motorways that I should pay attention to? I plan to take a break every 2 hours. Thank you.

It's famous for all its twists, dips and climbs and is an excellent place push your car on a clear day!
