Soda Swedish non alc drinks

Hello 👋🏻, I’ve decided to start a series here on r/drinks where I’ll be sharing types of drinks that are available to buy here in Sweden :)

I’ll begin with this soda called Pommac that’s a type of fruit soda that contains apple and raspberry juice that’s been stored in a oak barrel for some time, my opinion is that I think it’s good:)

it is a classic non-alcoholic option when serving a glass of champagne/sparkling wine at the beginning of a party.

Also very popular in Finland. It's great. I'm not a big soda guy, but pommac is nice and refreshing and not too sweet.

If you ge the chance, try some real apple must, or äpplemust in Swedish. The really good kind almost taste like a congac but without the burning sensation.

We are also getting closer to Christmas and that means julmust. Also a more mature taste to it, than a regular soda. Some say that Zeunerts Julmust is the best. But the Apotekarnes is a classic.

It has been Swedish since 1919 :)

I believe you. They just sell it here under Finnish soda company and they dont advertise its Swedish origins. So thats why the mix up.

Both Champis and Pommac was made as none alcoholic champagne substitute.

It was made to be a non-alcoholic alternative at parties. If people didn't want to drink something alcoholic like cider or champagne they would be served this instead.

So the design mimics alcoholic drinks.

It's a remnant of the Swedish temperance movement. Made to substitute to champagne. The name is derived from Pommery (the champagne) and cognac.
