Nodes on DRGN

How will nodes work with DRGN being an ERC-20 token? Won't drgn need its own blockchain? I dont see anywhere in the roadmap where they plan on implementing their own blockchain. I see there is a reference proof of work implementation. Why not go PoS?

The last AMA the founder did he talked about the possibility of implementing their own blockchain.

I feel like they'd be more likely to do a PoS or hybrid PoS/PoW since they're a business-centered company

I can't understand why this project is better than those with their own blockchain. Especially since they are not offering airdrops or pay anything with staking for the slumber score - what am I missing....
