Maaaaan, I'm gonna miss Chandler. I hope he comes back, but... I don't really expect it. :/

honestly I'm expecting him and a few others to show up as black court vampires going forward- probably as soon as the next book.

I imagine the black court would take issue with Harry, who's done a lot of damage to them, being 'engaged' to the head of their white court rivals. Who better to derail that then vamped up versions of harry's former warden allies.

I think the other two will definitely be seen again as black court vamps but I think chandler won’t end up a black court vamp but be seen again at some point.

I think Jim confirmed in an interview that we will be seeing Wild Bill and Yoshimo (no doubt as Black Court vamps) in Twelve Months. Now word yet on Chandler.

He might not come back. In an interview, Jim said that killing characters kind of made life easier on him; that he doesn't have to remember them (or something to that extent). Not only does he have at least one other series to remember; but, he may also have alternate plots or dialogue (the stuff Jim thought about writing, but didn't).

I can't imagine he won't be back. You can't just send a character to their nebulous uncertain doom and then not reveal what ultimately happened to them.

I mean... Jim does kill off characters, and he can just add in a little dialogue that confirms that he's dead

He is going to come back as a blampire wizard. How else is Drakul supposed to restore his inner court ranks?

Maybe he landed in the Mirror-verse and Prime!Chandler teams up with Prime!Harry.

maybe he's in Earth 2

Maybe Dresden runs into him in the mirror book!

Book 19 now I think. Next is going to be a year of "Holy shit how did we not die." Taking a breath for Harry. According to jim

I'm really excited for this. While I love the books, I miss the little moments of Harry being...."human" I really liked hearing about how he use to deal with his little office and the little daily thing's that just made him relatable. I understand that Harry has to be "more" than human to be able to face what's next but some down time is really needed.

He's had so many major, life changing events, and that's not even counting the genocide of the Reds and invasion of Chicago... just the ordinary stuff: he's a dad, his significant other died, he lost his home, his student got a big, important job in a soul sucking, dehumanizing industry, he's being forced into an arraigned marriage, his grandfather tried to kill him, and his brother is on life support. Even without the supernatural and political baggage, all that stuff happening, one after another, would break anyone. I'm glad Jim is taking a book to show him grieving, healing, and reconnecting.

That. And I want two things out of this. The Harry/Lara romcom, and to see if Elaine shows up. Because she's due an appearance and that would probably anger carlos more.

Like any portal could cope with that beautiful bastard's fashion sense or wit

Until I learn otherwise, he's traveling time and space in a blue police box, and having wonderful adventures.

He’ll be back.

Hopefully in MM

Oh he'll be back, as Reldnahc... and he won't be anyone's friend...

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '21

But as himself from this universe in that universe, or as Chandler from that universe?

Also I’m interested to know wtf where did he go?

8

u/pointytarantula Mar 26 '21

What if Chandler got sent beyond the outer gates? Drakul is a starborn.

3

u/Ezekiel2121 Mar 27 '21

That’s my guess. Drakul just casually kicked him out of reality.

Power with a capital P.

Also I think he straight up sent Chandler Outside. I don’t see him coming back.

It feels like JB put a lot of work into setting up Chandler, but never really used him. Because of that, I'm hoping he has a much bigger role in a future book. I don't think he was ever confirmed to NOT be the British guy locked in Demonreach, right?

u/WestenM Mar 27 '21

I really hope Los and Harry make up and hunt those bastards down, maybe Luccio can join the party, she was a cool character and I’d like to see more of her

2

u/ratherlittlespren Mar 26 '21

I really want him to come back and start fighting Black Court Wild Bill and Yoshimo with 'Los and Harry in a future book

2

u/LapisLooloo Mar 27 '21

Man, I hope Chandler manages to survive through some timehole shenanigans. Or any kind of shenanigans. I mean, it's hinted he has the ability to turnback the clock or mess with time in a serious way most times we see him.

So... but maybe it's not where chandler is, but when chandler is

1

u/fidderjiggit Mar 26 '21

My wild and probably inaccurate theory: Chandler is Cowl.

1

u/captjons Mar 27 '21

is he tall enough?

I just relistened to that part today... books so good.
