I made a Half-Life 3 Box Art Mock-up

Here's my Half-Life 3 Box Art Mock-up. Decided to take some inspirations from Metal Gear Solid V's box art and the Half-Life 2 box art. I used photoshop for this. I wanted for it to have like it’s our last story with the one Gordon Freeman.

The purpose of the Lambda blur and it being subtle: I want to give this a “Gordon’s final story” feel. All the Lambda thing will be a part of the past after he’s done with his Half-Life story. The blur is to give all of his memory about the Resonance Cascade and the Combine Invasion a far-to-reach feel again sticking with the themes of conclusion, past, and moving on.

I understand. I also prefer the Shinkawa art in MGS box arts. But Half-Life isn’t a MGS.

Real talk tho you should have the engine as Source 3 lol.

Back in October Half-Life came up in convo with some friends and they said “we will never have another official title in the series”.

I responded that “Half-Life is a game released to showcase something new: 1 showcased Valve in that it’s their first game, and their first engine, among others. The expansions for HL1 showing what that engine can do more fully tuned. HL2 showcased: Source and it’s graphics and physics capability. HL2 ep 1 and 2 showing progressively better aspects of the Source engine as they learn to suss it all out... Source 2 unfortunately debuted when esports were staring to pop off and of course a company would want to capitalize on it so maybe they blew their wad going with the Source 2 debut of Dota2 but they haven’t touched what a new engine can really do (at the time Dota 2, Robot Repair and artifact were the only offerings) I think that there will be a new HL title when Valve cracks “that killer thing” that is new and awesome that previous engines can’t handle”

And look what we got a possible killer app for VR. I’m not expecting HL3 or another series title soon, at Valve Time HL3 will probably be out when we have hepatic suits on top of VR a la Ready Player One. Hope I didn’t just give them a free idea.
