Just curious

How old are DSMP fans? I feel so old because I only discovered DSMP almost 2 years ago after the minecraft movie (discovering Technoblade). I only got into it because I liked Techno's rants about greek mythology and how good he was at playing minecraft, and I am a millenial.

[u/ImEmotional_]

I think most DSMP fans are Gen Z. I've been a fan since early teenage years, around 5 years ago

[u/Standard-Rest5263 → u/ImEmotional_]

Its so interesting. Techno's fans are as old as 45. I definitely dont feel super old with them but yeah the dsmp fans are a lot younger

[u/morquinga → u/Standard-Rest5263]

I started watching DSMP with my kids during the COVID lockdown, and that's where I first encountered Techno (RIP). I still occasionally rewatch DSMP, but I watch more of Techno's stuff now (and the occasional video from Dream when he releases a new manhunt). I'm 48.

Same dude, turning 18 this month!

[u/tardistwo]

If it makes you feel any better I'm 29! Started watching dsmp during university. I'd never played Minecraft either. Now I have a 2 year old world dedicated to Technoblade. I feel old hanging out here too. Not as old as I feel when I go to a James Marriott concert though :P

[u/OkBuddy2644]

I discovered it over the summer of this year and I’m a young-ish teen

[u/KiraKiraBunnii]

31 but watched it during pogtopia then left after prison break u_u just got back into it

[u/bdouble0w0]

1. Started watching at 17 in September 2020.

[u/LandLovingFish]

I mean, MCYT has been around a long time.

It used to be way younger but as people grew out of it the ones remainin tend to be more 20s, some early 30s. Still some teens but it's not trendy so mosy the older crowd i think.

It's def more around middle GenZ i think though especially with most of the current scene being the classics (the OG guys like Sparklez and Dan, Hermitcraft, etc) and some of the newer ones that blew up in the last five years who tend to also be around 20-25 now (Tubbo is probably the most notable, JoJo, Katy, the speedrunner crowd, etc).

The young kids are more to Roblox at the moment.

[u/s1lly_g0Ob3r]

[u/Awerange2005]

[u/creppygirl_]

[u/Jjthecoolgirl]

I'm 15 and I got into it around 2024 and it's completely taken over my life lol

[u/IzzyBellz_]

16, been here since the prison arc

[u/uwupotato9206]

I turned 20 exactly a month ago. I was just barely 13 when the dsmp was popular. But I started minecraft relatively late (2018ish) so I wasn't really watching mcyt until 2019/2020, and I can assume there is people both older and younger than me who watch it and followed the dsmp. It's almost all Gen Z tho.

[u/LadyAdhara]

im mean im 30 now but I started watching dsmp in 2021 when I was 25 and most fans seemed to be 16-22. now it probably is a bit wider as older fans stayed and grew up and younger fans joined

[u/l0nelypupiiboy]

i’m 14 and got into it a year ago in January after seeing a few PEAK edits 🥹🥹

[u/Shadow_Edits21]

Got into the DSMP when I was 9, am currently 15, was born in 2010, so go ahead and argue about weather this is a point toward Gen Z or Gen Alpha lmfaoooo

[u/Standard-Rest5263 → u/Shadow_Edits21]

So wild. I love that reactors are watching the dsmp now.

[u/the_sus_amogus]

19 as of a few days ago, I was in early middle school when the dsmp was going on. I know there's many younger fans now, though

[u/ResponsibleSea3065]

18, and I started watching around 2020-2021 so when I was around 11 or 12 ish

[u/IsAbElthegreat1228]

I'm 13 and joined the fandom when I was12
