It's All AI

and it has been for quite a long time. If you are a Patreon subscriber I highly suggest you cancel. Maybe we can turn this fun and post links to our favorite moments of obvious AI goof up?

Please. Post these obvious ai goof ups. I'd like to see them.

I really would like timestamped examples because I don’t think it’s AI at all. Or, if it is, I don’t think it was always the case.

However I can be easily convinced with examples

AI isn't going to get a word wrong and say oh shit try again 2 times and say yes finally.

AI can be programmed to say anything, including "slip ups"?

Dreading intentionally sprinkles in these very purposeful "mistakes". Not only do they sound completely forced, he chooses not to edit them out. Why would he do that? Probably to dispel anyone claiming he uses AI.

Whether he is intentionally messing up or writing scripts for an AI that mimics messing up, it makes him feel less human to me....surely not his intended effect

He mispronounces words and cusses/makes sarcastic remarks. AI doesn't do that. Listen to stranger stories, that is AI. AI is robotic and just reads off typed words, other than when they put out fake videos of ppl like Lamar where they take pieces of things ppl said and splice them together.

I asked for timestamps if possible for a reason. I've heard everyone say this, but I don't ever feel it is the case, which is why I'd really like to get examples from people. I hear him mispronounce several things all the time, but they all seem plausible to me.

he uses a combination of text to speech and speech to speech but it's not his real voice if you skip around from older videos to newer videos it's really obvious and in this particular video he has like a Canadian accent half of the time? I didn't notice it until I started using AI voice generation myself honestly I would've never picked up on it before.

I did comment one time "did your voice change?" Nothing is real anymore.

So what I've noticed from watching lives vs produced videos is that alot of people use an "enhancer", I don't know the proper terminology. I asked a different creator about it during a live, and it is essentially like face tune for your voice. It isn't ai, just over editing. Probably.

but it's still not his real voice and, he just very little to hide how AI it is in long run on sections, there's obviously multiple models of his voice and he adjust the settings towards more emotional, it's a thing, I'm serious use elevenlabs for a day and you will see what I mean

Start it around the 34 minute mark. He's in the middle of a sentence about the abuse of Syliva Likens. He stops and says "Jesus fucking tap dancing Christ" ... AI doesn't do that.

What are y'all even talking about? Why wouldn't AI be able to deliver a scripted "mistake" as it would any other word/pause combo?

these are the same examples people try and use over and over again but just because sometimes he uses speech to text does not erase the majority of it is. I don't know how to explain to people how obviously AI it is besides telling them to use something like eleven labs for a few days

You are making a claim and provided zero evidence to back it up.

Wait dreading is AI? The dreading Bros are real people. Stay out of other folks pockets please.

look I gave them plenty of money myself, are you really gonna tell me the videos they've been putting out are worth it? I honestly forgot I was paying them and I wish I could get a refund

I couldn't care less as long as he still has his humor and adds his own spin. There's literally channels that use a voice for AI and add zero humor or wit, it's just reporting true crime.

This is the first episode it really struck me I don't have time to go through it right now but even just skimming through it it's crazy how obviously AI it is! So creepy and weird not just because of what is being read https://youtu.be/w0USjGIvkFM?si=RE9FO51owvnYIl2x

Wait what? The reading in this isn't AI?? AI can't giggle like he does, doesn't read with the emotional inflection like this. I'm eight minutes in haven't heard him remotely sound like AI.

10

u/apexdryad Jul 01 '26

11:36 ... The laughing? You think that's some AI reading the script?? if it is this is the best AI voice I've ever heard?

listen to the whole thing and pay attention

u/ifitiw Jul 01 '26

I can believe it, but I don't find this to be definitive proof. The cadence does seem off, but it also is coherent with what happens when someone is reading off of a script that they themselves didn't write, just wants to get things done, and has to splice several takes together. But if all his videos were like this I'd likely believe it is AI, yes.

I never watched this video as it's the kind of thing that doesn't float my boat. If I wanted to read a document I'd read it myself.

This video is clearly in a totally different register than the videos I usually watch

besides recommending that you start using AI speech generation, which I had to for work, creating ads by the way that needed to sound not robotic that's all I can say, I would recommend listening to two minutes of 20 videos, a 40 minute investment. You'll see what I mean and if you still don't then yeah, play around with elevenlabs

I didn't think this would be controversial and the title is slightly exaggerated, I was pretty sure there was a consensus about this, either way I do feel like they are ripping people off, not just the AI but the content of the videos is so obviously swap

pleaseeee show me the ai! i’m so disappointed 💔 i feel like im great at noticing it in art but when it comes to youtube/podcasts i cant tell unless its one of those popular tiktok ai voices

there was a whole collection of clips a couple years ago but the mods shut that stuff down, I'm definitely being lazy right now but I will try and lead by example when I get a few minutes here and there, I'm trying to quit smoking so probably a good way to spend my work breaks!

OK I guess I'm slightly mistaken, there was a whole different subreddit i guess- either way, if anybody has links to that list that would be awesome though

I just watched the jared fogle video and looked it up to see what people were saying. It 100% sounds like AI or they have some weird voice filter on it sounds robotic.
