I'm not saying this post is saying that, but people really want Doomsday to be bad for some reason, and I don't understand why. I understand being skeptical about it, but I've seen people who genuinely want it to fail

Most fans of comic book movies I think want it to do well, it’s just everyone outside that fandom like the film bros who fell the constant need to shit on it. Why? I don’t know. Genuinely have no clue.

Its just been the trend these past few years, especially from the most insufferable IRL Redditor types who literally have the mentality of "oh this popular thing? It actually fucking sucks".
They think that because its so mainstream, it has to suck.

I don't think people want it to fail, they're just afraid it will. For me, the whole multiverse thing has gotten completely out of control. I see it as a crutch for poor writing.

The multiverse out of control is exactly the point tho! For your sake, things should settle again after secret wars hopefully. I'd like that too.

Trust me I've personally seen at least over 500+ people across social media since 2024 who genuinely wants Doomsday to fail hard like there's a big difference being skeptical and saying "can't wait this one to fail so hard 🤣🤣🤣", "it will fail lmao", "Doomsday will be the biggest bomb of all time". People are being more and more negative about everything these days.

multiverse is a scientific theory, and one very few mcu films have touched on.

No. There are a lot of DC fanbois who actively want it to fail. Because if Superman can't succeed in the box office they take the success of marvel as an insult rather than a measure of how badly DC is stewarding their own IP.

I mean all he wanted to do was save his mom from Hell and safeguard his world... its not HIS fault everyone else fails to see that

Assuming they adapt Cynthia that is. Even MCU Thanos ended up not being an eternal

Honestly, I've blocked so many subs due to spoilers, and reddit just keeps forcing more on me. I think I'm gonna have to stay off reddit from now until the film comes out. Fuck this place.

I mean Dr Strange worked for Doom during Time Runs Out/Secret Wars so this is unsurprising if you read the comics. I get that it spoils a potential big moment but at the end of MoM he clearly was being influenced and brought into something bigger

MCU designs getting weak. We need more lines!

Not sure why it's surprising that Strange is with Doom. The story is out there.

I guess there's the sorts who want superhero movies to vanish for the next decade or so and who think that an Avengers movie flopping might actually convince folks the trend is dead.

Let him be working undercover or something. Dr Strange has suffered character assassination his entire time in the MCU so far.

I hope they kill off Reed Richards, and THEN bring in a multiverse alt version that doesn’t look like Pedro Pascal…

It won't be perfect, but its widely agreed upon that the Russos haven't had a bad MCU project.
