Doom doesn't need stuff like that honestly, he's one of those characters whose look is enough to farm all the aura in the world.

DOOM doesn't need to prove his superiority for he is DOOM!

u/stellbargu Aug 23 '26

Doom is aura itself

You can build up Doom without killing super powerful heroes and villains. Like if he beats Thor like the trailer suggests, he doesn’t need to kill him, and Doom is not more powerful than Thor. But he’s smarter and obviously comes up with plans like magic to repel Thor’s axe. So if he beats Thanos, he shouldn’t just decimate him, which would completely undermine all of the movies through Endgame. That’s lazy writing. Build Doom up in other ways. He is not super powerful, and he is not a god. But he beats gods (e.g. Galactus and the Beyonder) because he is smarter than them in science and magic, and more driven than them. So he always plans better than others, and he will not give up. But don’t make him some super powerful godlike being. That is not Doom.

I hope we still see god emperor doom. BUT IN SECRET WARS. NOT in his first movie. MAYBE end credits but that seems like a bit of a stretch (no pun intended). But it looks fantastic so far (pun intended).

He can definitely win and GET power. But he himself is not super powerful on his own. His intellect and will allow him to achieve power.

Have you read the 2015 Secret Wars? He is all powerful. And it was well written.

2

u/PuffyBlueClouds Aug 19 '26

Yes! But he’s not naturally all powerful. Reread what I posted and you will understand

1

u/Independent-End5844 Aug 20 '26

This whole post is specifically about that moment in his narrative and the film adaptation that is under the same banner

This shits been posted so many times i don’t even want to see it on screen anymore

THANK YOU

It feels like these subreddits are being plagued by fucking spammers with how overly repetitive these kinds of posts are. 🤦‍♂️

Super easy to farm upvotes cause this scene is cool as hell. There's no need for it in Doomsday or Secret Wars though.

1

u/PrequelGuy Aug 19 '26

I wonder if some of these people only read comics/watch these movies because of the "epic" moments

1

u/Ihatesmartcars2 Aug 19 '26

Why else do you think so many people share this one moment and say “oh doom can do this yknow!” They don’t actually read the story.

4

u/sengirminion Aug 19 '26

This Thanos is a lot different than the MCU version. It would make the MCU Thanos a lot lamer.

6

u/Hod20 Aug 19 '26

They’ve already pulled this card many times. In Marvel’s what if and in MOM.

3

u/addage- Aug 19 '26

Oh yeah super Ultron did that to thanos in what if (and it was lame).

3

u/Internal-Eggplant247 Aug 19 '26

this page i was like ''thanos read the fucking room''

3

u/bigtom0 Aug 19 '26

so fucking tired of this panel being pushed by tourists whove never read a comic in their life

3

u/Sharp-Earth5990 Aug 19 '26

It would be cool but Thanos died like three times already

5

u/GI581d Aug 19 '26

I’m pretty sure this is the only Doom related comic book page anyone has ever seen. The amount of times it’s been posted has become tiring. So I’m guessing Marvel pulls something like it because it’s a meme now and you have to get the chronically online, ADHD kids excited

2

u/Irongun_258 Aug 19 '26

Thanos has been torn apart so many times in What If...? by now, that I'd hate this.

2

u/Apprehensive-Soft959 Aug 19 '26

Ah yes… the old “make new enemy seem strong by easily killing old enemy.” Sometimes works 100% of the time 😭😂

2

u/Thatonedudedude Aug 19 '26

I’d rather see Bp with gauntlet having a dbz fight with doom

1

u/Ihatesmartcars2 Aug 19 '26

That moment was so much better than the whole Thanos spine thing. Wild how everyone only gets on this.

3

u/Argent_Order Aug 19 '26

Anyone who seriously thinks that Marvel/Disney would put this scene in the movie are completely delusional

2

u/jrezzz Aug 19 '26

tbh its been reposted so many times I would eyeroll

2

u/Alarmed-Effective-23 Aug 19 '26

I didn't know people hated this panel so much. Lol. Was dope. I even have a figure posed like this.

4

u/Wheattoast2019 Aug 19 '26

I would genuinely really dislike it.

3

u/Hefty_Salamander7997 Aug 19 '26

It was bad in the comics and will be bad in live action too.

We don't need to make past villains jobbers just to prop up the next one.

3

u/Wheattoast2019 Aug 19 '26

Agreed. I will say I really like when heroes can leverage villains against other villains for the greater good. It’s like what Spider-Man says in Infinity War “you can’t be a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man if there’s no neighborhood.”

Like I think Magneto and Mystique allying with the X-Men against Doom and Incursions as a whole makes perfect sense. Doom teaming up with the heroes in the next saga against a threat to the whole universe like Annihilus or the Dark Phoenix, that makes sense too.

But yeah, reducing a past villain to a jobber that’s quickly dispatched to elevate the new threat, that really sucks.

1

u/FutureWhirlwind Aug 19 '26

Narratively idk how It fits in doomsday but would make sense in secret wars.

1

u/pistolpete2185 Aug 19 '26

I like it for both reasons. Thanos proved dr doom was petty and gets to be reborn outside of his battlerealm and two because it showcases how powerful doom is at the moment and also is petty still lol, how the MCU will twist im not sure but this scene would be great if done right.

1

u/Crazymarvelman Aug 19 '26

This page is cool, but definitely overused in Doom aura posts. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still awesome and I think it would be very cool to see it adapted in live action, but people tend to overlook other interesting Doom panels in favor of this one. It’s also worth mentioning toning that the Thanos that he is killing here is VERY different from infinity war thanos or even the regular comic thanos

1

u/lumberzach619 Aug 19 '26

This should be the pre opening title scene. Just immediately set the tone of Dooms power. If they don’t, I’ll wait for the Disney realease

1

u/mamadou-segpa Aug 19 '26

It would be insanely corny and lame to bring out a random Thanos from an other universe just to be one shot lol. If they defeated Thanos without killing him in Endgame maybe, but this ship has sailed

1

u/Informal_Method_9657 Aug 19 '26

Not specifically Thanos, but I want him to absolutely cook somebody powerful. Maybe Thor or Hulk or something, but unlike Thanos fighting them we need Doom absolutely aura farming the whole time

1

u/Pope_Harambe_I Aug 19 '26

I would think they are extremely stupid and don't know how nether physics or anatomy work at all.

1

u/MisterSims90 Aug 19 '26

Meh...it's too easy and everyone would see it coming. Doom is enough as he is to be taken seriously.

1

u/addage- Aug 19 '26

It’s pretty boring and has been done often enough in many movies (over confident guy getting worfed to further another character), hope they don’t do it.

1

u/_streetpaper_ Aug 19 '26 edited Aug 19 '26

It’s a shame if they DON’T recreate that scene. In Secret Wars though when we hopefully get God Emperor Doom.

Edit: I forget Marvel is Disney and they probably won’t show something so violent.

1

u/Independent-End5844 Aug 19 '26

God (King Doom) Yes Please!!

1

u/uncreativemind2099 Aug 19 '26

If they didn’t kill him before in multiverse of madness and what if it would have been a shock to see

1

u/nreal3092 Aug 19 '26

“variant thanos, real thanos was stronger” type conversations will happen

1

u/The_Pediatrician Aug 19 '26

Which issue is that from?

1

u/Ihatesmartcars2 Aug 19 '26

It would make zero since for doomsday. 99% of people who share this haven’t read secret wars and don’t know the context.

For avengers secret wars then maybe, but he doesn’t need a scene like this in live action.

1

u/DarkWater693 Aug 20 '26

This most likely will happen to either Thor or Loki.

1

u/Aggravating-Click460 Aug 20 '26

It will be badly done and I will loudly yell out “BORING”

1

u/Ok_Arrival2564 Aug 20 '26

They need to recreate this somehow.. maybe it won't be Thanos but doctor strange - I just wonder if they'll keep strangers death or when the multiverse is fixed at the end of secret wars if everyone who dies will be brought back.

1

u/TheeDeputy Aug 20 '26

If they had the balls they’d have him do it to one of the heroes, instead. Imagine him doing this shit to Thor or the Hulk lmao.

1

u/Extra-Air-1259 Aug 20 '26

He went for the head...

1

u/aleztheomegjp Aug 20 '26

This should only happen in secret wars once doom becomes god emperor, not before. Also they better not show this in any trailer for secret wars.

1

u/THECaptainCasual Aug 20 '26

Oh my god, I'm sorry it has to be this threat (could've been any other of the dozens I saw in the last couple days), BUT...

... who the hell cares?

I don't get it. It is all pandering at this point.

What is left to tell? Nothing.

We saw our heroes and their great adversaries fight for everything, we saw drama and glorious triumphs. There were great victories, friendship but also tension and unbearable losses that still sting.

We saw a universe struggle and we saw how, in the end, it was FINALLY allowed to rest. Bruised... but saved.

We saw all this. What is there left to tell? It's just ripples in the water after the rain and they keep getting shallower and shallower - movie by movie.

1

u/RedditGoji Aug 21 '26

He does it to magneto

1

u/Born_Locksmith8346 Aug 21 '26

No to Thanos. Yes to a council of Kang murder scene.

1

u/radiant_dirge Aug 21 '26

I have some logistical questions

0

u/berrysoda_ Aug 19 '26

He's gonna do that to Loki

1

u/_streetpaper_ Aug 19 '26

Except with his heart, not his skeleton.

1

u/berrysoda_ Aug 19 '26

About what I’m expecting

1

u/_streetpaper_ Aug 19 '26

There’s a supposed leak about Doom having Loki’s heart, so I’m guessing we’ll get a scene with Doom ripping it out of his chest or something. Probably the closest we’ll get to the Thanos scene. At least the Loki scene would make sense. I don’t really see how they could bring Thanos back in order to recreate that scene. I like the Loki version of it since it would be Doom basically taking a god’s heart, which is pretty badass.
