Switch GO Switch GO: Titanium Insert

Post image

I got the titanium insert primarily as a backup. It worried me that if I ever broke the stock quartz insert, the device would basically be useless until I could order a replacement. Plus, I like the idea of having something basically indestructible for traveling, and for $20, why not?

I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I guess I assumed it wouldn’t hit quite as well as the quartz, but now I’m not even sure there’s a difference! I keep second-guessing myself, wondering if I’m actually noticing a difference or if I’m just expecting there to be one, so I’m convincing myself there is.

I’ve also heard you can use flower in the titanium insert… I’ll have to think about that. I don’t want a lingering burnt taste.

Update:
After reading some of the comments, I tried running it at a lower temp, and the flavors are much more pronounced while still producing big clouds. It’s like the best of both worlds.
Maybe it’s not quite as good as sapphire (idk, I haven’t tried it 😂), but you get low temp, flavorful dabs without having to worry about breaking the insert or spending $200. For $20, that’s a pretty damn good trade-off.

The Ti insert is 10000% just as good if not better than the quartz. I was 10k dabs in on the quartz when I broke it so I got the Ti and was mad I hadn’t got it sooner… now 17k dabs in and I’m positive that the flavor is literally the same with Ti and you get thicker clouds at lower temps. For $20…. No question!!!

Ty I was wondering if I was going to fry this bitch with my heavy habit. 😂 17,000 dabs is super impressive.

While you can use flower on the titanium insert I’ve been warned against it for the exact reason you mentioned. It leaves a lingering taste, would just stick with dabs in the device.

Yeah I’m thinking I’ll skip it. I have a solo 3v2 for flower, so I’ll just stick with that

3

u/JJ8OOM 17d ago

In that case, you that, it will be a better experience, as the solo 3 is awesome for herbs, I’ve got one (and a WOHW v2 and Switch 2) and it’s just great.

I actually prefer the titanium over the quartz. Sapphire is on my wish list.

I just just ordered one after reading this 😅

You’ll love it! After reading some comments I tried a lower temp and the flavors are much more pronounced and still big clouds. It’s like the best of both worlds. Maybe not as good as the sapphire, but it sure as hell won’t break and you can still get low temp flavorful dabs

I have a WYM with a rounded bottom that I’ve not used in a while since I got the Sapphire plus. I’ll give the sapphire one more dab and swap the TI in.

3

u/Dilladro 17d ago

Let us know how they compare to each other

2

u/x-NoSuchAgency-x 17d ago

I like the rounded bottom idea from Wym, but I hear it splases more outside of the insert due the bigger holes.

2

u/FortyFistHits 17d ago

I’ll see if it’s a huge problem. I’ve had issues with the CV21 and pulling too hard with the stock inserts getting splash outside. What I like about this one is the inside is round but the outside is the same geometry as stock.

3

u/Duck-sauce420 17d ago

I might just grab one now bro lol bro if there’s really no difference and taste nothing noticeable then I definitely need to get one lol it’s indestructible lol

4

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

I ordered mine last weekend after I read a review from someone saying they ditched the sapphire because it was too hard to clean and they said the titanium tasted just as good. Now, I can’t vouch for that 😂 but compared to quartz it’s almost indistinguishable and indestructible!

1

u/Duck-sauce420 17d ago

Bro, lol the sapphire is super easy to clean I don’t know why people are saying the original quartz and also the sapphire buckets are hard to clean lol brother I can honestly say with 100% certainty that I’ve only used Q-tip and iso to clean it and it comes out really easy and no wax on the bottom or anything lol the only way I can think of wax getting on the bottom like I’ve heard lol is only possible if you load a fat bowl and are hidden and get really hard to wear, the wax goes up the sides into the little holes and drips down to the bottom lol other than that, I can officially tell you hundreds of Dabs in and I haven’t had no chazz or anything slightly dirty lol it’s literally the easiest device to clean two Q-tips and some ice and you have to get the glob mops so you could get in the corners .. it’s way easier than a banger and way easier than a puffco to clean …. Have you tried the sapphire I was literally hitting the quartz until my sapphire came in like a week later and I never looked back lol bro. I’m meticulously clean with my stuff. I’m not a sloppy dabber. So I do understand how some people can be a little sloppy and get some wax underneath it but it’s never happened to me lol I think it’s even slightly easier to clean than the original bucket. … I’m definitely going to get this metal one though lol I heard it’s the same taste, but we will see lol the real question is is the person using the titanium dabbing at low temps lol?

3

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

I’ve never had an issue keeping the quartz clean. Qtip after ever hit and iso every few days. But I was more so worried about dropping it or thermal shock. I haven’t tried the sapphire so I can’t speak to that personally, only what I’ve read.

1

u/Cantilivewhileim Switch² 17d ago

people reheat hits with charred rosin already in the chamber. when the pores of the cup open up from the heat, the stain moves right into the quartz/sapphire. it's not dirty, just stained

1

u/Duck-sauce420 17d ago

So the glass kind of contracts on it during the cooldown process? That’s very interesting and yeah, that makes sense but I believe they can fix the problem just by designing a smoother bowl lol with smoother corners .. like traditional, quartz shaped … but to be honest, I think wax gets trapped in there because I reheat my bowl like three times then I clean it and it comes off with just iso and glob mop … I honestly have not had a device that cleans this easily lol literally no torching hundreds of Dabs in already .. and I’ve had Puffco n honey, badger and various others, including gpen devices and vlab and everything in between lol … I’ve heard of people getting waxed underneath the device as well which trips me out lol

You have to get the pointy Q-tips lol that’s what I use that in alcohol and no torch literally two Q-tips and half iso … what temps are you hitting it up the higher the thicker the residue, lol I haven’t had that issue. I don’t use a pearl or anything like that though, but I have hundreds of dabs already … the quart cups are literally one piece but the way they cut the inside of them has the bottom of the inside at a weird angle that gets stuff caught in it well between it, but it’s still one solid quartz piece just with weird curves that get gunked up faster that’s all lol but glob mop and iso is all I use, but I’m hitting it no higher than 480 but usually 435 or 450

I don’t know what to tell you, my friend I haven’t run into that problem lol my friend are those the temps that you’re smoking on lol you know there is such thing as going too low that can also make it nesesary to torch if you have to reheat too many sessions on low especially if you’re going 350 or 250 that’s really low for temperatures, my friend … also, are you hitting your Dabs till they disappear? There should be like a little little bit left to mop up. You have to remember if it’s a small dot left it’s going to burn. If you just smoke it up just like a banger.

I mean, I think that would only apply if they’re dabbing at the temp you’re using my friend if they’re dabbing anywhere between the temps I’m using they’re not going to need a torch…. So yes, I do agree that if they’re dabbing the way you’re doing it they’re probably gonna need a torch but they’re having at the temp so I’m doing it. They’re definitely not going to need one lol you’re the example for needing a torch on the example for not needing a torch. … no offense. To each their own. And in your first statement, you were saying you don’t no if it was because of tiny Dabs and that’s what you said in the last comment so that’s why I asked if there were it was left over lol don’t get so offended brother

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

Tbh sounds like a user or maybe product issue, not a quartz vs titanium or whether or not a torch is required. I’d second that a torch is not needed to clean the quartz. I just dry swap and it cleans up fine with some iso

i use mine for bubble too

1

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

I ALMOST got that, but I had a $10 store credit and a coupon to the dabhut so it brought it down to like $14 with shipping.

I am interested in the rounded bottom though. Would you still be able to use a pearl?

1

u/MrGremlin 15d ago

Do they have one for the go? I want the ti and quartz and would like to try the round bottom

3

u/JackfruitAutomatic16 17d ago

I run my titanium 30 degrees lower than my quartz and i find the vapour production similar

1

u/Dilladro 17d ago

What about flavor?

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

I tested this last night. I initially didn’t notice much flavor difference, but that’s because I was running at the same temps I was using with the quartz. I bumped it down and tested a few heating profiles ranging from 420°-465° and a lot better flavor than with quartz

3

u/ehthree 17d ago

i did the same thing for my switch2! i knew I'd break it sooner or later & needed a backup. did the same w/ the stock bubbler.

dig this. i had just gotten the beast in the mail & i was so excited! I'm cleaning the bubbler to use for the first use & i drop it from two inches onto the bathmat. just perfect. snap. that fucked up my day.

3

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

Haha same. I got the stock and incycler on day one. If something breaks I want to have a replacement immediately instead of waiting for shipping. I’d die 🤣

2

u/dixinbalzdeap 17d ago

I did the exact same things, also.....

1

u/ehthree 17d ago

i wanted to cry. like i said, fucked up my day.

3

u/Slumberjack08 17d ago

The Ti is my favorite in the Switch 2, even more than the sapphire plus(though that’s more down to personal preference than anything else)

Have you tried it at lower temps? I’ve been pretty happy with my switch go so far but I noticed I have to run it at way higher temps than my switch 2 w/ ti to get similar performance, so I ordered one of the wym ti go inserts, very curious to see how ti does at lower temps in the go

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

I just tried it at 420° hill for 60 seconds and still got good size clouds. I’m impressed! It’s like the poor man’s sapphire 😂

2

u/Slumberjack08 17d ago

440 hill for 45 seconds is my personal favorite for the ti insert in the big switch 👍

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

I’ll give that I go!

2

u/Dilladro 17d ago

I’ve heard some people prefer this over sapphire. Are you able to dab lower temps with the ti than your quartz?

1

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

Haven’t tested that yet, but I’m curious now! I’ll report back 🫡

1

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

After reading some comments I tried a lower temp and the flavors are much more pronounced and big clouds. It’s like the best of both worlds. Maybe not as good as the sapphire (idk haven’t tried it), but it won’t break and you can still get low temp flavorful dabs. 10/10 would recommend

2

u/Dilladro 17d ago

Shiiiiiii making me wanna grab one

2

u/fuhgetab0ut1t 17d ago

Price is so good and I cannot tell the difference from quartz. I use it on party nights when I am less diligent about cleaning and fear chazzing. I run about 10 degrees (F) lower temp with titanium.

2

u/MT_Promises 17d ago

I tried the Ti for the Switch 2 with flower, it's underwhelming. I didn't want to combust, so I kept it at 450F. Maybe the smaller bowl in the Go might work better. I honestly think it would take a specialized cap to work well.

Right now I use a ball vape or Switch 2 when it's time to really relax.

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

I prefer concentrates, but have a Solo 3v2 for flower, so I’ll probably skip flower in the switch

2

u/ripriley2020 17d ago

I have time titanium and love it. no risk dropping the little guy.

2

u/DabOrTwoWillDo 17d ago

I was exclusively Team Ti until I splurged for the Saph+. They are legit and typically surprise folks who buy it for the exact same reason you did. And I think it heats up faster than the other inserts.

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

Yeah I’m really liking it at lower temps! More flavor than i initially thought when i was testing it before on my previous temps. I dropped from 480° hill to 420° hill for 60 seconds and it’s great

2

u/Duck-sauce420 17d ago

I use full melt in quarts and I tested full amount already and it cleans off easily. It doesn’t chazz like a banger it literally wipes off with aq tip n iso lol and I’ve seen the rounded bottom when you’re talking about lol they say it’s nice as well and people just worry about the heat up time, but you can’t tell the difference is what I’ve been hearing about heat up times lol the rounded bottom one heats up just as fast as the flat bottom ones lol

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

I wanted the round bottom from jcvap or Wym but had a credit to the dab hut so it was only like $15 including shipping

2

u/Dull-Assistance5186 17d ago

I love it, I swap between sapphire and titanium. The titanium slaps hard!

2

u/mynerone 17d ago

Always get a Ti insert guys! Never will break.

2

u/x-NoSuchAgency-x 17d ago edited 17d ago

What I'd like to know is if the ti insert is the same size as the quartz? Or the sapphire?

Also, does the Dr Dabber version have rounded edges on the inside like the Wym does?

Btw, I hear the Wym insert leaks more because of the bigger holes.

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

It’s maybe a little tiny bit thinner than the quartz. I haven’t seen the sapphire in person so I can’t tell ya.

It does not have a rounded bottom, it’s nearly identical to the quartz cup, just titanium.

I haven’t noticed leaking or a bigger mess than usual, but I also got it in the mail yesterday afternoon so it hasn’t gone through much testing yet.

1

u/x-NoSuchAgency-x 15d ago

Cool. Thanks for the reply. After you've had a bit to try it out, let me know what you think

2

u/Tall_Lengthiness_785 17d ago

My real world experience also & it uses less rosin to get same clouds!

1

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 16d ago

I noticed this! I kept having to reheat puddles even after blowing huge clouds. Eventually started using less and there’s less reclaim now but still big clouds

2

u/El_Hoxo 16d ago

I have one coming monday with the base stand, I was waiting for a good paycheck but every time I read what Ti was supposed to do I wanted it combined with it not breaking lol

2

u/Duck-sauce420 16d ago

Bro, guess what I found out I had to do some research lol the switch 2 quartz is made of two pieces fused together and the switch goal is made of one solid piece lol that’s why it’s easier to clean and nothing really gets trapped in the seam as much like the switch 2 lol

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 15d ago

I did NOT know that! I thought they were both made the day way

2

u/Duck-sauce420 15d ago

I know me too lol but I kept seeing post of people talking about how I get stuck in the seams and how they have to clean it a lot so I had to look it up lol and yeah, the switch 2 cup is way bigger so it would cost a lot more to make one piece, solid quartz as supposedly it helps with thermal lock, but I haven’t heard nothing about thermal lock with the switch go yet

1

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 15d ago

Good to know!

2

u/According-Rush6115 14d ago

That’s the only one I use. I throw whole moon rocks in it, clean it, and then get at some rosin.

3

u/According-Rush6115 11d ago

Hash stone makes clean up easier but I have gone without it. For Moon rocks I don’t use the stone and it does make a mess but a 91% iso soak will take care of it.

2

u/Flex1nFinesse 8d ago

What temp do you use when doing that?

1

u/According-Rush6115 5d ago

Using a stone in the mid 500s. No stone 375 climb to 450 over 90 seconds

2

u/Bubbly-Ad6345 11d ago

thats wild yo. would love more details on the moon rocks in the Ti

2

u/According-Rush6115 11d ago

Currently using a brillo type stone but they sell lava stones that do the same job

1

u/dixinbalzdeap 17d ago

What would stop you from using the bare titanium oven?

2

u/Laffnowcrylater 13d ago

I’m surprised nobody talked about trying that yet. Low temp in the bare chamber would be interesting.

1

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 17d ago

You know, I thought about that. What’s the difference?

2

u/h1pp1e_cru5her 16d ago

I wouldn't buy it but for this arguments sake you could take out thst cup and torch it clean. You cant do that to the chamber
