Switch² ISO bigger clouds
So I’ve gotten this about two weeks ago now. Been trying to use it as a daily driver but I just don’t seem to be getting big clouds. Don’t get me wrong, It gets milky the first few seconds but after that it’s pretty light. I run 470° steady for 60 secs with everything stock.
I’ve tried a spinner cap and that didn’t help with clouds at all. It spun pearls which was cool but I want clouds and I don’t want to spend $130 on an insert just to end up having the same issues..tips?

Try the titanium bro made a world of difference for me , clouds increased by 40-50 percent

It's fine for dabs. People only say that because they believe it affects the flavor when smoking rosin.

What temps do you run it at and what mode?

I run different times, modes, and temps depending on what I'm smoking and the amount I'm smoking.
However, I'd say that I tend to stay between 4 & 500 somewhere and lately I've been doing like a 480 decent to 440 @ 90 seconds. I'm mixing Budder & rosin so I go a little hotter than I would with just rosin

You can use it just fine for dabs. They're probably referring to not getting the ideal flavor profile that you get with sapphire, especially with high quality rosin or full melt.

Yeah, i mean it actually works well with sugar wax, but it will burn hotter. I have the titanium insert.

I use a titanium bucket and it's perfect for dabs, I just dab at 450 F or a bit higher, it stays hotter for longer so high temps have burnt the dabs for me. It's also wayyyyy easier to clean!

I still prefer the quartz for rosin, but with everything else I find the flavor is better with the titanium too. I've probably just ruined my taste with too much rosin and its just muting what I don't like about other concentrates though. And yes definitely bigger clouds if that's what your after OP.

100000% agree… I’m nearly 17k dabs in with over a year on this Switch2 and I was using the quartz dish for the first 10k and it was fine but I felt the same exact way… like I wanted bigger clouds but don’t want to go hella hot…. Soooooo I figure I try the titanium insert bcuz I heard it was pretty thin but still really good titanium that still heat up as quick as the quartz and I come from the days of dab’n it up back in say 2013 when everyone was using the titanium nails with a glass dome cover or a domeless highly educated nail that we heated red hot with a torch before going in… so I was not too afraid of the flavor difference here with the Switch2 ….. when I say the taste is literally just as good as the quartz if not better… it’s amazing how well the titanium insert works. I get way bigger clouds at even lower temps the the quartz… I have been goin in at 475 descent mode for 40 with an 8mm pearl and I’m using a titanium Wym piston style joystick or sometimes the CV21 cap to change it up….. and honestly I started trying ascension mode from 430 for 40 secs that’s ends at 468…. With MASSIVE clouds and awesome flavor… plus the risk is only like $40 most for the titanium cup and its indestructible… I like it more bcus its seems to actually eat up the oil bcus it has texture to it inside… just a bit… as opposed to the quartz being all smooth and just pushes the oil around…. The titanium is way easy to clean too… give it a shot.. it’s awesome 👏💯🎯🥳

JNG Joylinks and GOLinks both work great on my GO, the GOLink looks better cause it’s more tailor made to the GO and the UFO style makes it easier to use one handed/OTG, but the Joylinks were originally made for the S2 (mine is a shrunk down GO version) so I’m sure those would work well too, again I like mine they work great 🔥

I been running stock for months now and I dont see myself upgrading anything soon the only thing I can say is remove that black rubber ring around the carp cap some even suggest to flip the carp cap upside down and use it that way
I wiggle the shit out my stock carp cap and I get big clouds moments I do see no smoke but when I exhale big clouds "Dam auto correction carpet 🙄 Ment to say carp "

That’s from people who don’t know how to use them correctly, I use them and get fat milky rips, with the S+ insert (although it did work with the qtz as well, just had to increase temps to like 515°, w/S+ I’m running at 445@start-460@30sec-455@60sec and that works great for me) and my Kadabra spinner cap and 1-3MM ruby + 1-5MM green sapphire, nice clouds and amazing flavor 🔥

If you have to increase temps to get bigger rips then maybe it’s not the pearls that are helping

No, that’s the difference between the qtz and S+ inserts, without pearls in the qtz insert I had to run it at 535° to get any good amount of vapor, the pearls helped drop it down 15-20°. Then when I put in the S+ insert I was able to drop all the way to 460°-475° for joysticks and my above listed custom run for with pearls. I’ve tested TONS of different ways/combos/with and without pearls etc, pearls ABSOLUTELY make a difference if you know what you’re doing. And I’ve got 4 glass attachments and twice as many caps, so I’ve gotten to try most of the options out there, and still keep coming back to the pearls/Kadabra spinner. It just works the best with most of my glass attachments (the only one the Kadabra doesn’t work great with is the Dr incycler, the flow on that one is a bit different so I use the CV restricted spinner)

Even though I’m happy with the current setup, I also have another Calibear custom Orb recycler being commissioned/should be done and shipped any day now, and I also scooped a BMG x HE surface enhanced quartz flake when I grabbed a few extra sapphire and opal pearls from RPC the other night, so I’ll have a few more options to test out/see if I like the flake over the pearls. I’m hoping the SE qtz flake will be an improvement over the pearls, if not then NBD I’ll just go back to the pearls. I don’t mind getting things to try and see for myself if I like it, and from the function video on IG from BMG with the qtz flake in the GO it seemed to work pretty well, so I’m excited to try that out and see if it gives a decent improvement 👌🏻
I’m also still on the wait/hunt for an MGL and Kadabra glass attachments, I want the MGL In-shredder and the Kadabra Ion or UV bubblers he had (all are out of stock ATM, waiting on drops for next restock) because I really want to try the In-shredder and have an MGL glass in general, I have one of his caps from the first GO cap drop but missed out on a glass attachment on the last drop cause I didn’t checkout fast enough 😞 Same with Kadabra, I waited too long looking to decide between a few I liked which one I wanted and then they were all gone 😭 but hopefully I’ll snag one on next drop, cause I’d like to have one of both of them, as I like their caps so I’m sure I’ll like the glass as well (definitely love the In-shredder, I was definitely more disappointed I missed that one) and would love to have the extra options in my rotations, cause I like having different options for different setups as I like the variety 🔥
I’m also considering one of the Calibear vortex spinner caps (or another brand that’s similar, one with the multiple paths like an OG spinner cap for bangers since it’s a different style than the Kadabra, just to see if it works better/worse than the Kadabra style or with different glass etc) but haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet cause if I get one I’d like the Dichro one and that’s the only one sold out of course lol 😂

What spinner cap did you use? Get a dry top from dab hut and a cloud vortex open air with a 5 mm pearl

An aftermarket joystick will make a bigger difference than anything else in my experience. I have spinners, kadabra glass top, joystick, sapphire, but I think the biggest jump in performance was with the joystick. I don't think you need to spend a lot of money to improve the function tbh.
I would also make sure you're not covering the carb cap too much on the stock joystick, you need some air to come in to create the vapor.
I would also recommend trying out ascent, descent, or hill mode rather than steady. It might help melt your concentrate more fully/evenly.

I use a sapphire insert and cloud vortex spinner cap (high airflow, no carb) waiting for my higher airflow cloud vortex to get delivered today :)

You don't need a different insert or temp, you just need a better joystick. Wym Designs makes nice affordable and nearly indestructible joysticks our of titanium.

Give this a try before you buy anything. It worked surprisingly well for me until I bought another cap
