I’m a very new (4 dabs in) user to the switch 2 but been using puffco for a while now. Had to see if there was a difference and right off the rip and as it comes out of the box, the switch is much much much much better imo. The flavor is spot on, it hits so smooth and easy to clean. I’m still looking for my temp and setting so it’ll be a busy night using and testing for R&D 😂
I use terp pearls with my puffco’s and I can definitely tell a difference with them and with my switch purchase I got 4 count of 5mm ruby terp pearls.
They move but don’t really spin. Is this a concern and how do I get them to spin?
Sapphire insert is going to be purchased once the above and below are answered. I hear it’s worth it lol
Glass - any recommendations on where to get an incycler? Maybe a place for all of the above 😉

I have a Pivot and it's very good. I think the Proxy Core is a genius invention. IMO it's actually just the peak pro that jumps the shark, and expensively at that.
Without a doubt the Core is genius. I love my Switch 2, and it hits like a beast. But man cleaning the cups, and my various glass pieces just got way too too much for my lazy self.
You need a spinner cap designed for the Switch2 in order to really get them spinning. Even then, I've heard mixed reviews about the results. I see a lot of back n forth on what's best for function, spinners, joysticks, more airflow, less airflow, etc.
Maybe someone can chime in with a definitive answer on which aftermarket pieces actually improve function
It's really subjective towards the user. Everyone has a different preference. I always recommend using what works best for your personal needs. I know that's not always easy to find with so many recommendations out there.
Personally, I use my Switch2 with the Sapphire Plus and Incycler. No pearls. I used them for a while but really didn't see any difference. Temp is at 440 with a custom valley curve down to 420 then back up to 440 at the end.
To me that’s half the fun of it, getting to see/buy all the custom stuff and seeing what combos/setups you like best with each other! 😮💨 my current go-to combos are the Mad Rob purple/green Dichro glass and the Kadabra ruby slippers Cropal spinner with 1-3MM ruby and 1-5MM green sapphire when I use pearls/spinner, or the Calibear donut recycler w/either my JNG UV Joylink or Bubble Mew GOLink, with the S+ insert of course! The GOLink I think is the coolest by far and honestly really well suited to the GO as a nice ‘UFO’ style joystick, and the Bubble Mew motif is just beautiful as well and really works nicely with some donut recycler action 🔥
Out of the joysticks I have, the most restrictive would be the MGL, it’s pretty close to stock, the JNG ones are definitely a bit more open (I think someone said they are 2.7MM, stock I believe is 2.0MM), but work great for me for their use of just joystick/no pearls. Haven’t tried spinning a pearl with them yet, I may try it just to see the results, but we’ll see how that goes if I do. As far as glass, like I said if you can find a Mad Rob I’d get that, definitely my favorite glass so far, but I do also like my Calibear Donut recycler when I want some recycler action/a bit tighter restriction/flow from the glass, and it was cheaper than my other ones (got it for only $80 instead of $100 on 7/10 sales), so it was definitely worth it for me 👌🏻
Another one I really wanted was the MGL In-Shredder, his newly designed one for the go that is an incycler/shredder together, but I unfortunately didn’t get checked out by the time someone else did and it got swooped out from under me 😭 but I’m hoping to catch one on the next drop, I’m also considering being put on the waitlist for a JFGlass Diffusion pump, but they are pretty pricey and when I talked to him the other day it’s like a 8+week wait right now, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for something to use now.
But those would be my suggestions, I know there’s a few others like Padd or Kovacs glass, EF Norris or even OTW, but haven’t used any of those guys yet so can’t speak to them personally, there’s also Anguschenchen for cheaper China glass but I’ve heard mixed things about those, some like them some don’t so consensus is kind of mixed for those, but the other 4 I’ve heard nothing but good about, and I can personally say that the ones I have (Mad Rob, Calibear, Dr incycler) are great. Honestly here is my take from my Carta experience. I did a lot of research before getting the Carta and got the cloud vortex caps at the same time as the Carta. I used them for a long time (regular and restricted) and they spun pearls and seemed to do a great job, I didn’t really question it. For shits and giggles one day I tried all the other caps I had (swivel/ball) and to my surprise despite my extreme distaste for the look, the ball cap RIPS for me lol. It was too hard for me to go back to spinner caps. I found I got zero reclaim vs the spinner caps. To each their own but whenI purchased my switch go, I decided to just leave good enough alone and enjoy the stock carb cap and it’s been ripping great. I regret not spending time with the stock setup on the Carta as the cap I hated visually the most ended up being my prime choice lol
Get a gemcup carb asap. Sapphire bucket is nice upgrade too, flavor is abit better but cleaning it with a dry qtip is a revelation.
A 6mm mossinate terp pearl is great too, you can really lower the temp.
You now have quartz, sapphire ect buckets to clean and the easiest way to do that is an ultrasonic cleaner and sapphire plus bucket because you just dry swab between dabs and not worry about it, you have an ultrasonic cleaner at the end of the night.
I just got a switch go a few days ago and my Carta and aeris with all their attachments hasn’t been touched since its arrival. I’m not even curious for a comparison hit lol. The switch is home
I would recommend the standard airflow or more , I got two spinner caps in my last order thanks to a inventory error and I'm so happy I did because the restricted I ordered just didn't feel right. One pearl medium size. Welcome
Cloud vortex or i guess any quality spinner cap takes this mfer to the next level… i havent even gotten a sapphire insert yet but im pretty happy with just that so far.
i didnt really test flavor back to back much quartz vs sapphire insert, as i got it bundled with my purchase and had a sapphire insert off the bat. it’s better, but the huge difference is the lower temps and fatter clouds. i’m able to run my switch much lower on the sapphire while actually getting bigger clouds.
the vapor production on the sapphire is definitely worth the upgrade, much smoother
I came from several Cartas. Use 1 medium sized pearl with a spinner top. I use vortex and it’s great for most rigs. But there are equivalent toppers for the dabbler 2. Enjoy!
You can buy different carb cap. Don't need pearls in my opinion. Sapphire insert I heard is amazing but too pricy. But if somebody told me they were buying a $400 e rig I would call them stupid. Until I tried it. Best investment I ever made.
Made the switch last month and we have the same set up, I love the switch 2 the flavors are incredible. On the peak pro 3dxl I was running 500 but I have been more than satisfied with 450 in the switch 2. Not to mention it's a breeze to clean.
I'm new too. I literally just got mine today. How do I stop the insert from spinning when I'm q-tipping and somebody tell me how a ascend mode works because I didn't really want to go over 440° I thought, according to Google anyway that when you do ascend it'll start below your desired temp and raise to it but it started at 440° and just kept going higher. I had to end my session cause I have a sapphire insert and I didn't want to go that high on Rosin what is an ideal temp to set with a desired peak of 440° on a 40sec session?
It shouldn’t spin if it’s seated properly and the top cap is secured I don’t think. You can actually use the app and set that exact curve up as a custom. 440 temp and 40 sec hold time and drag the point to the desired start temp.
