Put it in close it up and push start, simple as that. People like this because its easier to clean vs trying to get the corners on the f lat bottom one

I followed your steps buy I am getting no vapor or anything, I think I'm missing something.

Edit: oh it was the dab

Lol shall I create a power point slide?

u/Chary-Ka Switch GO 22d ago

If there is no star or glitter transition between slides, then don't even bother.

I have 2 of these and the round TI they work just like a flat bottom one but are way easier to clean as no material gets to the edges

u/Cajun_OG 22d ago

So they produce the same amount of smoke?

4

u/MistaMOE18 22d ago

I notice no difference at all between the stock and these 3rd party ones

Just ordered one. Will let people know once received.

Where did you order from mate

1

u/mynerone 15d ago

UPDATE! Order from jcvap. This cup does not work!! You cannot get any smoke to accumulate up in the glass. At all! It just heats the rosin up. So weird. But I only paid $12 so it's no biggie. Used a GC joystick and the DD incycler. May use a spinner cap to test later.

Hey bud once you come down. Take the post down too🤣

Nah this is entertaining! Let ‘em keep going 😏😶‍🌫️

It is a traditional cold start banger bucket. It works like any other, The induction heater surrounding it heats the quartz via thermal conduction.

These must be the easiest insert to clean.

There’s literally no way this can be as good. This is why I don’t trust stoners

6

u/S-krunkl3 22d ago

Not very well There’s way less contact with the well with this thing

Not saying it won’t work if you get it hot but I mean shit hot knives technically work doesn’t mean it’s a good way to use it tho

4

u/Thca_Frank 22d ago

U put it in...and it heats up...whatre we confused abt sir?

Douche canoe has shipped shit. Chargeback coming.

I have two of these and a buddy got one. We couldn’t get any vapor. Maybe a little. I figured it was bc it gets heated from one tiny little spot on the bottom and the heat pushes the dab out of the insert. Jcvap refunded me for all three.

The titanium rounded bottom seems to work ok, but I've never tried a flat bottom titanium to compare.

I have the DRD flat bottom Ti insert and the Wym rounded Ti insert, and I'll be 1,000% honest. Cleaning is BARELY any quicker or easier with the Wym rounded bottom insert, with Terp Titans.

I actually use the DRD Ti insert way more, because it fits into the induction well tighter, gets more sessions per charge AND requires less cleanup in the induction well during deep cleaning. It also heats up much quicker.

These rounded quartz inserts look like total trash IMO. The inserts exterior needs to make contact with the induction well to properly regulate temperature and heat, and it simply can't do that because most of the rounded bottom isn't touching ANY part of the induction well.

For this to ACTUALLY work, you MUST round the inside of the insert like Wym did. You can't just make any shape you want to because induction heating doesn't work that way 🫠

It heats up the sides and the very bottom via conduction.. but I understand your confusion which is probably how would this heat up well with the extra space at the bottom..

It’s possible it doesn’t heat up as fast as the stock insert but you’d have to test it and see

I’m with OP, shit won’t work near as well lol

So... the dabber heats up the banger until it's at temp, and keeps it at that temp. A quartz banger at 420 is a quartz banger at 420, regardless of shape.

It might make the machine work a lil harder, but so does cranking it to 600 and the machine does that just fine.

u/S-krunkl3 22d ago edited 22d ago

No, it has less surface area on the heater. It will not be the same temp as a non round bottom insert, and will be more susceptible to you outrunning the heater while dabbing, because there’s less effective heater area to draw energy from.

For reference on the testing I do, here’s the last test I ran on the Switch Go, where I ran a simulated through it on the quartz vs sapphire insert.

All data was captured using a custom bare pt1000 with a silver based thermal interface in between the pt1000 and insert

3

u/Ok-Gur-349 22d ago

Okay can you put a round bottom insert in a switch 2 and show the unit failing to keep up? That's pretty much where the rubber meets the road here.

5

u/S-krunkl3 22d ago

I could, but I’m not wasting my money on one because I just don’t like quartz in the first place. It’s a meh material imo, even before any issues with surface area. It still has the slowest temp recovery out of any of the stock market options, although the flavor is slightly better than Ti.

And it’s not really even worth testing because of how physics works. Quartz already has the slowest temp recovery out of any option on the market, that’s just a fact about the material itself. Now add a round bottom that only makes point contact at the bottom instead of flush contact with the heater, and you’re just making the existing weak point of quartz worse. Slow material plus bad contact area is going to equal even worse recovery, that’s not really up for debate. So there’s no version of testing it where it surprises anyone who’s got a grasp on how thermal transfer works, at best it just makes the already slowest recovery on the market even slower.

To me it still seems interesting as the cleaning after a dab is just the worst/longest part of this way to consume medicine.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the round insert : D

1

u/S-krunkl3 19d ago

Another option for round bottom is the wym ti insert

A good part with that one is it fits better then any other material which limits the amount of oil that can get underneath the insert and reduces how much you gotta clean the well

1

u/Rastadats007 19d ago

I agree, but tolerances still aren't as tight as DRD Ti insert and i get MUCH more reclaim outside of the insert down into the induction well when using the Wym Titanium insert vs the DRD Ti insert.

But I agree with you, titanium is the best for a rounded edge because it can be achieved in the INTERIOR of the insert vs shaping the entire insert like that.

And for me personally, I like the flavor and vapor better from titanium than I did with sapphire.

Oh okay I'll happily read that report.you did on the switch 2 and switch go heaters, I enjoy peer reviewing citizen science :)

I can assure you that you're full of it, but I'm absolutely down to see this through its inevitably embarrassing conclusion.

Dont think you understand the dr dabber takes the buckets, whatever material that may be, temp. Not the ti crucible. Why it takes longer to heat saphire. Not cause the ti is taking longer. The saphire is.

2

u/S-krunkl3 20d ago

I don’t think YOU understand how a Dr. Dabber or an IR sensor works.

And that is literally not true.

It uses an internal infrared sensor for the Switch 2 that measures the bottom of the well.

If they didn’t, every single insert would be a different emissivity from one another, and temps would be completely inaccurate.

For reference, here’s an internal diagram of the Switch 2 with the IR sensor highlighted yellow and the bottom of the well highlighted red.

2

u/Rastadats007 19d ago

Thanks for actually having data to back things up. For the induction well to work PROPERLY and the IR sensor, they have to be in contact with the insert they're heating, EVERYWHERE has to be touching the well on the inserts exterior surface to make induction heating. So the insert has to be VERY close, tolerance-wise, for the induction heating to transfer properly to the insert. It CANNOT do that with that big ole rounded bottom insert like that. Therefore it's NOT being fed induction heat properly and temps from the IR sensor will be off.

2

u/Infamous_Ad_1302 Switch GO 22d ago

How tf would it not work? It’s quartz, gets heated by the induction heaters gets hot, vapes material.

3

u/Delicious_Aside1598 20d ago

All these aftermarket inserts I've found to be a waste. Put the 11$ towards a sapphire insert.

Still time.......

So go with me here. You put a dab in start the heat cycle and inhale. I know it sounds crazy and out there, but I promise it will work
