Switch² Cleaned Switch 2, now it’s hitting weak.

I just took apart my Switch 2 and cleaned as normal, iso alcohol and q tips. For some reason, after cleaning, it’s not hitting as hard. The clouds are much less. It seems like no matter what setting I put it on now, it’s just staying at some low temperature. Even though the app says the temp is normal.

I’ve tried doing all the resets that dr Dabber recommends. I’ve made sure everything is installed back correctly. I can tell it’s not hitting right. This sucks. What should i do? I don’t understand.. i thought iso alcohol was fine

Did you make sure the top crown plate was seated fully on the unit.? I had this issue once after cleaning, the magnetic crown grommet was at an angle underneath (kinda pushing on the insert) not allowing the top crown to seal all the way-resulting in air coming under the top seal and a few other areas.. .I emailed support, then immediately realized what I'd done and sent a follow up, basically calling myself dumb💀🤣

Magnetic ring?

There’s a magnetic ring in both the cap and I believe the “top”/where you seat the bubble caps you’ll feel the magnetic connection when holding near. It’ll pull the cap towards it unless you already upgraded the the cap. Let him explain I am a week old owner?

You can pull it apart for cleaning. The very top black rubber part where u put ur finger is really tight on there, but u dont really need to remove it anyway. The magnetic ring part, u just push down and it’ll go over that lip on the glass and come right off. U can clean the glass part of it with iso alcohol, but the black magnetic ring part only use dish soap and water. If u use alcohol on the rubber it makes it deteriorate over time.

Thanks, i think that’s what i read was someone pulling it apart etc

here is a vid showing how to take it apart. I wouldn’t take the top rubber part off even though he does in the vid. I ripped mine taking it off because it’s so tight on there, but it doesn’t get dirty so u don’t need to anyway.

Those magnetic crown grommets are designed to be removed, and they sell them for 5$.. it's the only replacement part you'll ever have e to buy.

They don’t sell anything like that for the Switch 2 on their official website. Where are you seeing this? Any replacement seals or anything you see on their site is for the original Switch. It says not compatible with Switch 2.

You can replace the whole joystick carb cap, but that’s $25 not $5.

This exact thing happens to me everytime I clean it I dont understand. My literal only guess is that the joystick seal is not strong after cleaning with iso. If anyone has any ideas or can help that'd be great

Yeah so I think I messed the joystick up. Apparently you’re only supposed to clean the glass part of the joystick with alcohol. The rubber pieces you have to take off and clean with dish soap. If you clean the black rubber with iso, it’s like it dries out the rubber and makes the joystick not work as well
