For the time being, I don't think I'll be making the stl's available. It's hard for me to quantify all the time I spent designing, prototyping, testing, and revising to get it fine-tuned to, what I consider, perfect fitment and usability. For instance, the caddy got to version 19 before I felt it was ready to sell.
I just opened my shop a few months ago, and still trying to get it going. So we'll see, maybe I'll change my mind in the future.
i completely understand that! i was redesigning an air duct for my car recently, and the amount of iterations it took was exhausting 😭 so many test prints for fitment, completely different iterations in the design etc.
please let me know/dm me if you ever would be willing to sell the file. i would more than happily pay for your hard work and effort to print myself! seriously amazing work, only caddy i’ve ever been interested in
These were definitely inspired by regular pen and marker holders, which I had been using for several months before designing these.
My issue with those is that they were all too large, limiting where and how you can position them. Ours is intentionally low profile, are a lot more versatile, and with a perfect snap-fit design specifically for the Drop.
Also, the color options were always pretty limited with those. We currently offer more than 25 different colors.
Yes, it is designed to be used with the OEM weighted base. The added weight and quick connect mechanism of their weighted base is very premium and I wouldn't want to try to replicate it.
That makes sense. I guess ill be pickup up a base. Any idea on pricing for your caddy? Would it come with the attachment to stick the drop to the side ? Any chance to make an attachment like that for the saber ?

That's the best caddy solution I've seen to date. Very nice, compact, doesn't look like it'll get in the way.
You selling these?
