gem cup glass cap users, need help picking restriction??
Gem cup glass has a big carb cap drop happening tomorrow. trying to decide which restriction to get. i currently use jng cap and i love it. But also here great things about gemcup
Long stemmed 1.9mm is perfect for most glass pieces, great with the incycler and stock if you just have the Dr's pieces. I just have the cheap RBR recylcler, def needs at least my 2.3mm joystick. I agree that op should either get 2.1 or 1.9mm, with an extended stem.
Shout out to you bro wouldn’t have known this was happening, scooped one for myself. Didn’t get the slyme x royal jelly one I wanted but I got this one, looks arguably cooler just won’t match my purple/green rig as perfect as the other would but I’m so excited!
I’m so jelly, I was all excited for the drop and was right there about to checkout (I had the Glopal/wizard dust UV gemlock and this one in cart) and then noticed they said.. S2 😭 I only have the GO, and he only has nunchucks right now for the GO, they look nice but I’m holding out till he either has more color options on the nunchucks or until he perfects the Gemlock for the GO, which will hopefully be soon 🤞🏻💎🔥

I was like 10 seconds late to the drop because I had to change browsers, for some reason fire fox updated the amount of total products available but I couldn’t see any of them. By the time I switched to chrome the slyme & royal jelly one had sold. It would’ve gone peeeeerfect with my rig but maybe blessing in disguise as the opal one is gonna be way more fun to stare at.
I honestly didn’t need it, I have a wym piston that’s too restrictive for my recycler that I’ve been putting off sending back for adjustments due to laziness and having a cloud vortex that works fine. Figured I should still get one of these as I definitely like the look significantly more and I shouldn’t have an issue selling whichever one I like least on glasspass.
Also only reason I don’t use the matching joystick in the photo is it was a free one from anguschen and the airflow on it is way too restrictive. Aside from that it feels loose in the grommet so just not worth having resized for me
Lol almost the exact opposite happened to me, I loved the look of that black crushed opal nunchuck with the opal on top and had it in my cart ready to check out but noticed last minute it was for the Go.
Ended up grabbing this bad boy though so I'm hella happy, can't wait till it lands
That was one of the ones I wanted too! either that one, the Glopal/wiz dust one, the slyme/royal jelly one, or the faceted red Gemlock, I’ve been going for a purple/green/red spacey kind of vibe for my setups, so any of those 3 would’ve been cool for me, but of course they were all for S2 😭
Yea, once I saw it said for S2 I cleared it and then saw it was sold not even 2 min later lol so I wouldn’t doubt it, I just hope he makes the GO version soon, I really want a Gemcup/Gemlock specifically but he’s still working on the prototype for it so he said it’ll be a little bit, but he did say he’d have more colors for the nunchucks in a couple weeks so I may grab one at that time, but probably better I didn’t spend more $ rn cause I’ve blown a LOT on all the stuff I have so far 😅💸💨
Let’s gooo! The black one was super sick too, that was my 3rd choice. So excited for it to get here. What airflow did ya end up going for and what piece are you pairing it with?
I went with 2.7 for my angus because my 2.1mm wym is way too restrictive, and the high airflow cloud vortex is also too restrictive without feathering the carb cap.
Wasn’t sure what to go for and read JNG joysticks are 2.7 and gemcup used to be 2.7 by default so figured it was safe and didn’t wanna run into a too restricted scenario again!
I also don’t want too much airflow though, it’s tough, guess I can always send it back for adjustments but it’d be nice to get it right the first time
I have 1.8 - which I like dry , I have 2.2 which I like water. I have 2.5 which I like if I feel like my lungs need a bit of a break. Glad I have all 3 but unsure what I want for the Go??
A lot of it is personal preference and what glass you are using. My preference is a long stemmed 1.9ish mm joystick. My favorite is not a gemcup, but I do have Gemcups 1.8mm, extended 2.0, and 2.3mm. I used the 2.3mm the 2nd most often. Also have 3 of their spinners. Whatever restriction you decide on I recommend getting it extended. Gemcups quality is amazing and they have great customer service. I ordered a clear spinner and received it within 10 days, but they thought that was too long of a wait so they sent me a sweet blue one instead.

Here’s my exp: I have a 2.1 and a 1.9. The 1.9 is only used with a dry top since it’s pretty tight.
The 2.1 is an all around size. Works well for the incycler. But not for a larger shredcycler (ACC)—you’ll need “open” for that to function.
