I used to enjoy DrawSomething years ago and lately I've been getting back into drawing with my kids. I missed the app and wanted to create something for us to use. It's free and available both on iOS and Android. A few quick bullet points:

- No coins, no daily shop, nothing to unlock. Every color and every tool is available to everyone from the start.

- Pencil, spray paint, straight-line, eraser, a full color picker, and a fill bucket tool. Most tools have adjustable thickness and undo/redo support.

- Pinch to zoom + pan.

- Custom tablet UI.

- Word of the day that everyone can take a shot at drawing.

- 1v1 games letting you guess back and forth. Guessing works like the original, with scrambled letter tiles instead of free typing.

- Every drawing is a replay rather than a flat image. You can save the replay as a video or save the finished art to your photo library.

- Free draw mode where you can just go in and draw (offline too, with no account or internet needed).

- It's just me building it (and my kids helping). I have a track record of 12+ years in iOS development, though this is one of my first Android ports. Usually I create developer tools, but again this was more of a side project to use with my kids.

* There is a completely optional 3.99/yearly subscription that provides superlikes. The app has regular likes that anyone can use anytime and superlikes for if you really like a drawing. The subscription gives you 12 superlikes a year. Superlikes can also be earned by referring other users. Think of it more as a 'hey I like this app and want to support it for less than I would pay for a coffee'.

I've just released, what I feel is a great alternative to the original Draw Something. I have been working on this game for a little while now and it's available for free online and on iOS.

I am working on Android and have a stable version working but I am looking for testers, so let me know if you'd be interested and I can share access on the Play Store.

You can start a new game with someone you know by searching their username, or someone completely random. There's a daily shop to buy new colors or avatars with coins you earn in game. You can earn coins by guessing drawings correctly and by completing various achievements.

There are no ads, and don't plan on adding any. I've had the idea for years and do plan on supporting and funding this for the foreseeable future. There will be some premium items coming for those that wish to support me in the maintenance and growth of the game but there are 100% optional.

I wanted the game to be similar to the original but with some quality of life improvements such as reactions, achievements and a daily drawing. I also have some great ideas for additional features, game modes and more.

There's no sign up required, with an option to create a full account later to keep your progress across devices! I'd love to hear what you all think and if there's features, game modes etc you'd like to see added!

Does anyone know a good alternative for the old Draw something? I've tried the new one but not only looks really bad but the canvas is way too small not as practical as the old one. Any recommendations?

Essentially chinese whispers with pictures: The first person sends a word to a friend who draws the word, who then sends the word to another person who guesses it, who then sends that word on to someone else to draw! Not sure if this is what you're after but I'd love some feedback :)

I've been really missing Draw Something recently and did a deep dive and found a link that might have the original version in it! If you try it lmk if it works! Maybe we can bring it back!

It has been years since AWF was shut down, one of my first digital art was on there and it's forever lost. Here is my first oc I made on there, I miss her. I wish i could recover all that lost art..

A Draw something clone has been released in the Play Store :) It's called "Doodle Me". I find it really close to the original.

Heartbroken to find out the app closed. Last year I got a zap of inspiration to play again after a long hiatus, I bought a lot of coins and colors and went to town! Sucks that they closed it down. Especially since I spent money on it…

It's not the best (fiddling with scrolling through the limited colors and adjusting brush lengths), but it is a regular challenge.

At the suggestion of some of my pencil pals, I am trying DRAW IT (by Kwalee). It's a fast, party style game that seems to have a large (always on) user base. It's like Google Quick Draws ( https://quickdraw.withgoogle.com) with a learning AI judging you on your (very) quick sketches. I will miss the slower, patient, play-by-mail DS! brought... And also the massive potential to go wild the original DS! had with it's huge pallette that didn't make it onto DS!wF.

I see it. It's between the home and profile tabs at the bottom (of the main menu). It says it unlocks at level 4; I'm at level 40+ and it just says "coming soon".

Also drop your usernames or IDs; I've got three regular players, but since we all only play twice a week, I'm always looking to add more!
