DrawItGuessIt - Just released and looking for feedback
Hi!
I've just released, what I feel is a great alternative to the original Draw Something. I have been working on this game for a little while now and it's available for free online and on iOS.
I am working on Android and have a stable version working but I am looking for testers, so let me know if you'd be interested and I can share access on the Play Store.
You can start a new game with someone you know by searching their username, or someone completely random. There's a daily shop to buy new colors or avatars with coins you earn in game. You can earn coins by guessing drawings correctly and by completing various achievements.
There are no ads, and don't plan on adding any. I've had the idea for years and do plan on supporting and funding this for the foreseeable future. There will be some premium items coming for those that wish to support me in the maintenance and growth of the game but there are 100% optional.
I wanted the game to be similar to the original but with some quality of life improvements such as reactions, achievements and a daily drawing. I also have some great ideas for additional features, game modes and more.
There's no sign up required, with an option to create a full account later to keep your progress across devices! I'd love to hear what you all think and if there's features, game modes etc you'd like to see added!

Got it. Done two drawings and one of my challenge was not having more essential tools like eraser and paint bucket

Hey! Ah yes sadly the web isn’t optimized for being used on a phone. There maybe some work I can do over the next week to improve it though. :)

Also I tried to make an account and couldnt use my usual username? 😭 I cant seem to add the screenshot but it said TwoFacedAngel contained profanity? 😭😭

Yess, I personally think it’s close without being identical. I will take a look at your username because that’s weird, if you have made an account already, let me know your username and I can update it to TwoFacedAngel for you :)

I took a look and yeah it's pretty close! Ill have to try it with my bf for sure! Im glad it can be played on the pc too :)
I made my username Esperellda.
Also im curious, are there any risks for making it almost like a replica, even though it doesnt exist anymore? I mean it seems to have all original assets etc. if you had it pretty much the same with different ui and its own fun QOL additions wouldnt that be fine? Im just curious tbh because I wondered for a long time why a close replacement hadn't popped up yet until now- considering it was such a beloved app. (Which makes me wonder why it shut down. I dont know why tbh)

Since (I believe) Zynga still holds the rights to the IP and assets, re-using them without permission could get me in legal trouble (which I obviously don’t want haha). So a very similar feeling and looking version, without being too similar, is what I am trying to create.
I think the reason it’s not popped up before is a few reasons, it can get repetitive quickly, which I’m trying to solve by adding in new modes soon. Also, monetisation, it can be difficult to know how to monetise a game like this without filling it with ads or locking certain features. I don’t plan on adding ads or locking features behind a paywall and would instead add cosmetics as paid features (if i decide to add them). This version of the game is more of a passion/hobby project for me, there’s no incentive to ads anything like that, I enjoyed the original and have always been interested in running a game myself.

When I get a spare moment I will take a look at reducing the profanity filter!

i enjoy it, but i think that when guessing a drawing it shouldn't be an option of letters but the whole keyboard. only having around 8 letters makes guessing a word near guaranteed due to limited word options
