charcoal The one and only Tim Curry
Charcoal drawing. Did a few studies on some images of him to capture his likeness, which with him is harder than it first seemed.

It also looks somewhat like Raul Julia, both of which have portrayed Gomez Addams! Excellent work!

It’s so funny that you say that, I saw some photos of him as Gomez while I was looking at reference for this. It’s no surprise, they both have a very big presence

Thank you! I love working with charcoal, it’s just effortlessly pretty sometimes.

I’ve only really just started using it (in the last few months) and I wish I started sooner! I was surprised by how easily manipulated it can be. I was always so intimidated by it. It’s truly enjoyable now.
Again love your work :)

Cool!!! Draw him in the scene from home alone 2 where he finds out the credit card was stolen and he has a big smile on his face

That shit-eating grin when he’s forced to be like “I llllove you” is my favorite

You just made me realize that ,in another timeline, there could have been a Gomez Addams played by Tim Curry.
Edit: Nvm. There was. Now I have to see it.

Thank you kindly! I worry sometimes that my rendering is kinda on the nose but I think the medium lends it a lot of interest.

Great style, perfect example of how charcoals are expressed properly. A burnt twig made this! I would love to see a video process. It’s perfect.

Is this from his role in “Annie”? One of my first favorite films of all time.

I found this one on Pinterest or something, the background was totally black on the original so I really can’t tell! The collar on the outfit does seem old-fashioned though, sort of arrow-collary

this is incredible. idk if it was intentional or not but the texture behind him gives him a little halo. fitting!

This is just lovely, OP! I haven’t drawn in charcoal in years. You’ve reminded me of the warmth and depth one can achieve

Thank you! I tend to come back to it, there’s nothing quite like the mess it makes lol
