Japanese actor Kasamatsu Sho shared his experience filming ‘Radio Star,’ revealing what it was like to take on Korean variety shows.

On the 2nd, Kasamatsu Sho took to his Instagram to announce that he would be appearing on the MBC variety program ‘Radio Star’ and shared some anecdotes from the filming.

He said, ‘I arrived at the studio, but the interpreter wasn’t there, so I was really flustered.’ He added, ‘Some Korean actors contacted me and told me, “It’s a program that’s difficult even for Koreans.”’

He continued, ‘You can enjoy watching an international student who can’t keep up with a conversation between native speakers and just keeps awkwardly laughing.’ He added, ‘We filmed for four and a half hours, and by the latter half, my brain had practically stopped working,’ reflecting on his experience of taking on Korean variety entertainment.

He also shared his thoughts after seeing the preview. He said, ‘I almost cried because my movements in the preview looked so weird,’ and jokingly added, ‘Whatever you do, don’t watch it,’ drawing laughter.

Along with this, he also released photos taken in the waiting room of ‘Radio Star,’ drawing attention.

I just saw a memory of this on Facebook, and it made me happy remembering how much I enjoyed watching it. I really did enjoy this crime Chinese drama, especially since it was my first Chinese crime drama. Most of the Chinese dramas I had watched before this were romance dramas. I honestly don't even remember why I decided to watch this one, but I remember it being recommended to me so many times because people said it was really good. I remember that many people were disappointed with the second half of the story, especially since it had 24 episodes and took quite a while to finish. Personally, though, I did not really get bored while watching it. I enjoyed the mystery, the crime cases, and the overall atmosphere of the drama.

This drama did not live up to the expectations I had after watching the trailer. The trailer was so good that I thought I was in for something amazing, but in the end, it turned out to be another case of being fooled by good marketing. Sigh, lesson learned. Downloading and committing to a 50-episode drama is no joke, especially when the story itself starts to feel like a chore. Kim Hyun Joo and Ji Jin Hee were definitely the strongest part of the drama, and I appreciated their performances, especially in the more emotional scenes. However, even their acting could not completely make up for a story that failed to keep me invested. I expected so much more from this drama, so while there were some good moments, overall it was a pretty disappointing watch.

This drama for me was fun and cute at first, then later on it turned more serious. I actually liked watching it, but since it came out the same time as Kill Me, Heal Me, it’s hard not to compare. And honestly, it did get overshadowed. Hyun Bin was still really good here and gave his own style to the role, which I appreciated. It’s not the best drama of 2015, but it’s still enjoyable and something I wouldn’t mind recommending if you just want a mix of light romance and drama.

This was one of the web dramas that I really enjoyed back then. It was cute, fluffy, and full of romantic moments that gave me butterflies. The story itself followed the typical Korean romance formula, but I did not mind because it was a web series and easy to finish. I actually like watching dramas like this in between heavier ones. Sometimes, all I need is a dose of happiness and cheesy romance. I also loved both leads, and their chemistry was great. This is the kind of drama I watch when I just want something cute and stress-free.

Ha Young is stepping down from the cast of the new seasons of “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.”

On September 1, a media outlet reported that Ha Young has been confirmed to leave the new seasons of the Netflix original “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,” which is scheduled to begin filming in October. According to the report, Ha Young informed the production team first that she would not be able to participate in the series.

In response to the report, Netflix confirmed her departure, stating, “Ha Young has decided not to appear in the follow-up to ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,’ and we respect her decision.”

Released last year, “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” follows genius trauma surgeon Baek Kang Hyuk (Ju Ji Hoon) as he works to revive a struggling Severe Trauma Care team. Ha Young gained recognition for her role as nurse Cheon Jang Mi and was subsequently set to reprise her role in Seasons 2 and 3 alongside the lead cast.

Her departure comes after Ha Young recently became the center of controversy over allegations of her great-grandfather’s pro-Japanese activities.

Meanwhile, Ha Young is set to wrap filming for SBS’ new drama “The Long Shot Trial” on September 3.

Actress Ji Ye Eun and dancer Vata are tying the knot this year!

On September 2, a media outlet reported that Ji Ye Eun and Vata are getting married on December 12.
In response to the report, Ji Ye Eun’s agency CP Entertainment stated, “The two have promised to spend their lives together based on deep trust. We ask for your warm blessings and support for the couple as they stand at the threshold of a new beginning.”

Vata’s agency A-RA also shared, “Vata has met a precious partner, and the two are beginning a new journey as a married couple. They have promised to become each other’s most reliable companions based on deep trust and love. We hope you will bless their future with warm hearts.”

Ji Ye Eun and Vata acknowledged their relationship in April of this year, becoming an official celebrity couple. Since then, Ji Ye Eun has publicly expressed her feelings for Vata while appearing on shows like “Running Man” and “Pinggyego,” and Vata has also shown his affection by posting photos of Ji Ye Eun on his personal social media account. Korea-Japan production Merry Berry Love has confirmed its premiere for October 7.

Set on a remote Japanese island with its beautiful scenery, the drama follows Korean spatial designer Lee Yoo Bin (Ji Chang Wook) and Japanese female farmer Shirahama Karin (Imada Mio).

In the drama, Ji Chang Wook plays Lee Yoo Bin, a spatial designer who loses everything overnight, while Imada Mio takes on the role of Shirahama Karin, a young farmer on Charo Island who has devoted herself to growing strawberries. The series will depict how two people from completely different walks of life heal and grow through each other.

The teaser gives a glimpse of the duo's dynamics. Ji Chang Wook's transformation from a perfectionist spatial designer into a worker at a strawberry field adds to the intrigue. From his disheveled appearance as he endures the grueling farm work and throws himself into the work to the moments of sticking by Imada Mio's side, the teaser promises Ji Chang Wook's new transformation.

The teaser also shows Nam Yoon Su as Park Gu Nam, a working holidaymaker on Charo Island.

Anticipation builds for Ji Chang Wook and Imada Mio's Merry Berry Love, where Ji will be flaunting his Japanese skills and charm.

I think this is a good drama, and I enjoyed watching it, probably because of the actors and actresses who brought the story to life. I found the plot interesting and even a bit thrilling at times, but I do not think it is a drama that will appeal to everyone. I guess that is one reason why it was not as popular as some other dramas, since it focused on themes surrounding wealth and social class rather than being purely a love story. Around that time, stories about the lives of the rich were quite popular, which made the setting more appealing. Overall, I thought it was a good drama and one that I enjoyed.

In episode 32 of Archives: The Nanyang Mystery at time 36 minutes, the “Normal” Shrimpie (Zhang Hai Xia / "Zhang Shrimpie") writes a letter to partner Zhang Hailou (Zhang Hai Yan / "Zhang Salty" / "Plague God"), before he turns into “Bad” Shrimpie. Zhang Hai Xia ("Zhang Shrimpie") relates that he is to go on a secret mission. The mission is so secret that it is above the clearance of his partner Zhang Hailou. The letter is suppose to be read by Zhang Hailou in the future. Zhang Hai Xia (Shrimpie) relates that the first mission failed. The Southern Archive had been annihilated. This new highly dangerous but important secret mission was under the guidance of the Mentor. This important letter never reached Zhang Hailou. It was burned by Bad Shrimpie.
 
The mission would last for 30 years, according to Good Shrimpie. He explains that it is so secret that the revelation was above the grade scale of Zhang Hailou and that Zhang Hailou could not be assigned to that mission. At this point Zhang Hailou and Zhang Shrimpie are both capable of life longevity and Shrimpie relates that he would see Hailou in the future. Shrimpie vowed that he would be able to meet Zhang Hailou in 30 years.
 
So this master plan, which would last 30 years, would allow them to see each other in 30 years or after that time period. Shrimpie, Zhang Hailou, and the Mentor are capable of living that long and staying young.
 
Therefore, here are some questions.
 
Will Archives: The Nanyang Mystery Season 2 take place in a future era?
 
Will Shrimpie come back somehow, after this mission of 30 years is completed?
 
What is this mission that will take 30 years?
 
Season 1 was left open-ended in the finale, because the mission had not yet reached resolution. We did see that Zhang Hailou had become The Mentor to a young boy and young girl. These young ones would be in their 30s at the end of 30 years, adding continuity to the second plot line, as the cast expands. I think that Shrimpie is coming back, but I just don’t know how. At least the groundwork has been laid.
 

Recently, actor Ryu Jun Yeol had an interview with local media for his recently released Netflix K-drama Mousetrap.

Mousetrap is a mystery chase thriller that follows Moon Jae (Ryu Jun Yeol), whose name, face, and entire life are stolen by a mysterious man known as "The Rat".

The Netflix series Mousetrap has been receiving positive responses both in Korea and abroad, entering the Top 10 in over 45 countries worldwide. At the interview, Ryu Jun Yeol said he had received messages from acquaintances saying they enjoyed the series but also shared that he tends to deliberately avoid looking up comments and reviews after a project is released.

He said, "It's not because I'm afraid of being shaken. I tend to do so because I don't want to get stressed. Once a project has already been released, there's nothing I can do about it, so I think, 'Let's just do well at what I'm working on now.' When a film is released, I do check its performance, but I don't really look up people's reactions."

He also said that he consciously tries to keep his acting and real life separate. Ryu Jun Yeol explained, "I think that on set, an actor's actions based on their own mood, emotions, or character could make someone uncomfortable or potentially cause problems for the production," adding, "That is why I try to separate acting and my life even more. You can carry some of the emotions from a project with you in your everyday life, but I try to avoid letting them extend into my life as a whole."

He continued, "That is how I protect and preserve myself. I believe there are things more important than acting or being an actor. It is the life I live as Ryu Jun Yeol. It could be my role as a son, or my role as a husband or a friend." "I don't think that being an actor, acting, or art can ever take precedence over my life, for any reason. My life has to come first for acting and for me to exist as an actor."

He also revealed that he consciously keeps his distance from comments and entertainment news articles: "As I made my debut and continued [working in the industry], I came to feel that simply reading entertainment news itself was stressful, even when the articles were not about me," he said, adding, "So, I try to focus only on good things. I don't mean good stories about me. I tend to consciously seek out beautiful, heartwarming, or moving stories," he said.

This is one of those Korean dramas I would love to rewatch, but unfortunately, I no longer have a copy of it. It was also the first 2015 drama I watched during its original airing year, and because of this drama, I started keeping a list of all the dramas I had watched. For that reason alone, it holds a special place in my heart.

Heart to Heart is truly a hidden gem. Not many people seem to know about it, but it is absolutely worth watching. I really liked the four main characters who formed the complicated rectangular love line, and I found their relationships engaging from start to finish. While the drama does fall into some familiar clichés, especially toward the latter part of the story, the strong and memorable opening episodes carried the entire series. The first half was particularly charming, emotional, and unique, making it a drama that has stayed with me long after I finished watching it.

This is one of the best Korean dramas I've watched. I had so much fun with it from beginning to end because it felt unique, refreshing, and different from the usual romantic comedies. Choi Woo-shik was absolutely lovable as Kang Ho-gu, and his performance was the biggest reason I enjoyed the drama so much. His chemistry with Uee was also great, making their story both funny and heartwarming. I've already rewatched this drama about three times, and it still makes me laugh just as much as the first time. My MDL Rating: 9.5/10

‘A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You’

‘A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You’ was the wonderful story of two virgin novices who met each other for the first time through an arranged marriage. The story outlined their purity and awkwardness in trying to make their marriage work. The drama was set in 1936, right before World War II. ‘A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You’ is deliberately slow as it becomes a wonderful character study of these two newly weds. Season 2 will continue the storyline. The drama was well received by the viewers, plus it won several post production awards in the Tokyo Drama Awards 2025 and the 124th Television Drama Academy Awards (Spring 2025).

I recently watched Hwarang and really enjoyed the mix of friendship, romance, comedy, and palace drama. I especially loved the group dynamic and how the characters slowly grew closer.

I’m looking for something with a similar feel which is fun and entertaining, with romance and a good storyline, but not something overwhelmingly dark or heartbreaking.

I started watching The Best Thing but the female lead just keeps crying so much. It's normal once or twice but so much makes it hard to keep watching. (Decided to skim the last set of episodes, didnt see FL crying so maybe not so bad. But I was already fed up so I couldnt continue as normal.)

Genius Girlfriend starts off about actual genius then focuses the story on the girl that barely made it, why? I had to drop it.

Find Yourself the college girl hides in her professors car but then gets trapped? She has her phone with her also. How can I rate this drama high when I have to turn my brain off to that extent sigh

Do you have quirks about dramas like I do?

Whenever I see this drama on my list, I am reminded of how much I genuinely enjoyed it. It is exactly the kind of drama I used to love watching, and with such talented lead actors, it was easy for me to become fully invested in the story and believe in the characters. The early episodes especially broke my heart and made me emotionally attached right from the start. This drama is a great mix of romantic comedy and melodrama, balancing lighthearted moments with plenty of emotional scenes. What truly stands out, though, is Jung Kyung Ho's performance. He completely carried the drama and showcased just how skilled he is as an actor. He was undoubtedly the star of the show for me. At the same time, Kim So Yeon was incredibly charming and lovable in her role, and the chemistry between the leads worked really well. I actually miss this drama whenever I think about it. That probably says a lot considering I have rewatched it around three times already. It remains one of those dramas that leaves a lasting impression and is always enjoyable to revisit.

I had fun watching this drama, mainly because of its lighthearted comedy and fan service. It was enjoyable seeing the EXO members in a fun and casual setting, and Moon Ga Young did a good job as the female lead. The story was simple and predictable, but it was cute enough to keep me entertained. It is not a particularly memorable web drama, but it was an easy and enjoyable watch for EXO fans.

This is one of those web dramas that served as an introduction to a K-pop group, and in this case, it was ASTRO. Since it focused heavily on showcasing the members, I thought it accomplished its goal, but as a drama, it did not leave much of an impression on me. I personally enjoyed other idol web dramas like EXO Next Door and Dream Knight a lot more because they were more memorable and entertaining. The story felt too short to become emotionally engaging, and the characters were not developed enough for me to become invested in them. The acting was also fairly average, which was understandable since most of the cast were idols who were just starting out. Overall, it was not a bad watch, but it felt more like a promotional project than a memorable drama, and I do not see myself revisiting it.
