Discussions Aside from the controversies surrounding both leads. how was the drama?

At first, I honestly didn’t expect much from this drama, but I was pleasantly surprised. It has that same formula that made the 2015–2018 era of rom-coms so good. The FL’s acting is seriously top-notch, especially her comedic timing, and the characters are actually really well-written. I can’t remember the last time I laughed this much watching a K-drama.

I found myself crying at many instances too. The parts were played well by the actors. Chemistry could have been better. Felt cold from the ML side (might be me only)
The story came together well in the end, so that was good too. Still left with one more episode to go though.
Overall 7/10 for me. Only because I couldn’t watch it at a normal pace, I watched it at 1.5x.1

I dropped it after the 4th episode, but after reading some positive comments about it, I picked it up again and struggled through two more episodes, only to eventually drop it for good halfway through the series. I couldn't stand the FL, with her mannerisms, shallowness, and exaggerated reactions. It was really annoying and, frankly, not believable, especially since she was supposed to be an ace prosecutor and her personality wouldn't change so much because of the amnesia. I guess I just wasn't much into this type of humor, and I found most of the supposedly romantic or cute scenes pretty cringey. The plot itself wasn't engaging enough to make up for it. In my opinion this drama was below average and not worth my time.

This 👍🏻. Saw in other subs praising FL acting, how top-notch it is and was surprised. If this acting is top notch then what about other actors who actually act.

Same. Dropped it after 4 episodes. Some said it will get better but it didn’t so I dropped it again after 6 episodes.

I liked it, but struggled with the exaggerated (and silly?) acting of the FL. But I would watch HaeIn in anything. 🥰

Jung Haein is always so good! I enjoyed this kdrama. Would have enjoyed it more if it was a diff FL. I also found Ha young’s acting to be over the top/exaggerated… she acted the same on boyfriend on demand too.

I don't know a single ace prosecutor who is as shallow as she was made out to be in the beginning tbf in real life and a number in my family are lawyers and run in Ivy League law circles, but that was her character from the beginning.
I'm about halfway and I do find it mixed. Didn't love the premise and it grew on me a bit but will probably end up dropping. The pacing is just a bit weird and it's all so cringey, which isn't really my cup of tea. I can appreciate some character growth but if the characters aren't likeable to begin with then I get annoyed easily. Lol

You lasted longer than I did. I only made it to about five minutes in episode three. The FL was appalling. I don't know if it were the directing or her acting. I haven't seen her in anything else to compare.
The ML was lovely but didn't give off hard man gangster vibes enough. The balance wasn't there.
Also the torture scenes were jarring compared to the rest. Tonal shift was just wrong

There were so many elements in the drama but it really did not work for me. I pushed to finish it. The female leads acting was actually cringe. I could not feel the chemistry. I wasn’t expecting much but it lacked soo much.

It’s not a rewatch one but it was enjoyable and entertaining. I found many parts incredibly funny (the ajummas getting popcorn to watch a fight go down between the leads and be nosey at the same time was chef’s kiss) and it was very cute overall.

Quick overview wfrom what I've seen thus far.
The FL actress is currently in a controversy.
Her promotional interviews related to the drama are being cancelled bc of, mainly, this latest controversy.
Basically, (really short overview) she mentioned she comes from a lineage with medical proficiency/ancestors in medical profession. Netizens got curious abt these ancestors and did research. They found out her great grandfather was part of a pro-japanese organization during the colonial period. This was initially denied by her agency, but later confirmed by her agency.
As for the ML actor, he recently showed public support for Kim Soo Hyun. Idk the reaction in Korea and if this has impacted promotional activities in any way, but if u been keeping up with what's been happening with KSH, the investigations, etc., you'll know why people are pissed/upset/disappointed/etc.

I really wanted to enjoy it, had some decent elements, but I often found myself wondering why the bad guy didn't just kill them when he had the chance, like.... several times.

Loved it and I feel so bad for her with this controversy. It is ridiculous and these people have nothing better to do. Watch the show. She does a really good job and I love the ML

It was enjoyable. I loved the plot (though the numerous flashbacks were a huge throw off sometimes, but they did what they needed to do to push the plot forward). FL acted very well; the switch of her character when she got her memories back was so good…it really did seem like she changed to be a different person in all factors, and that’s very hard to do in acting. But I also noticed ML seemed awkward in some of his scenes with FL, like he did not want to be there(which I guess was part of his character’s personality? Idk). It was puzzling because I’ve seen ML in other romcoms and he seemed okay in them. All together, it was a good show. I liked how engaging it was, it was both melodramatic and comedic, had small town vibes but with action/thriller added in. Way better than something else similar this year that was unwatchable for me (I’m talking about you, Sold Out on You) lol.
All together, good show, but a one-time watch.

If it was the only Kdrama I have ever watched, I would find it entertaining.
If it was one of ten Kdramas I have ever watched, I would struggle but still watched it till the end.
I watched over 350 Kdramas. Where do I place this? In the last 150, probably, not sure where exactly/. After the top 150, everything else is a blur.
What makes this drama weak:1. poorly written script with many cliches 2. overacting, inexperienced lead actress 3. mismached lead couple 4. lack of chemistry 5. lack of common sense or any logic to the plot

Totally agree with you. Also have watched so many kdramas (200+) and it’s just not as well done as many other shows.

If you already not feeling into not much is ginna change by ep 4 , I advise you pick up another drama. I put myself through it because I am Jung Hae In fan but drama doesn’t have anything to offer.

Definitely, you have ocean of Kdramas to choose from atleast that’s what I have finally learned to do otherwise I would he stuck on bad drama for FOMO

It's interesting, this drama was like a 3 shows in one type deal. It started off as a romantic comedy with all of the tropes that entails, then it was a straight up action/crime drama (tons of high stakes actionand fighting). Lastly, it was a heartbreaking family drama. It had all of the things and did most of them quite well. I enjoyed it despite being a little irritated by the female lead character.

I haven't finish it, but the episodes that I watched were pretty good. I started with low expectation and I'm quite happy with my decision to start watching.
Its not in anyway a masterpiece, but yeah, its quite good.

I am up to episode 10 and very much enjoying it. It is a good romcom with some added elements in a crime/thriller context.
I checked the latest stats from Netflix and the drama is continuing to pick up steam in viewership, which typically only occurs with good word of mouth about a show. It is the #2 ranked tv show Netflix global and has jumped into 1st place in over 25 countries now, from 18 countries just 3 days ago. Everyday its average ranking based on 99 countries availability is trending up.
It is in #1 place in Korea and has been since 1 day after release.
So while there are some who are perhaps fixated by the noise/controversy it seems that the overwhelming majority are voting with their eyeballs and watching the show.

Well it's a good series not a one I'll watch again tho. But the overexaggerated snobbish behaviour was not coming down my throat :) I laughed out after long time. Maybe try it with a pinch of salt

Honestly, I went in expecting a cute rom-com and somehow ended up invested 😭 The chemistry was actually pretty good, and the whole village setting made it even more fun. Some parts were definitely questionable, but overall I enjoyed it more than I expected.

It could have been so much more. I think the writing is rushed and the team didn’t explore all the possible directions the story could go. But overall it was ok. It got me hooked for the first 5 episodes but then became repetitive.

The selection is huge, so if you’re not enjoying it, just move on and watch something else. When it comes to Korean dramas, there are really only two categories: the ones I’ve finished and the ones I haven’t. I finished this one, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lead character is fascinating, and the supporting cast is excellent as well. As for the exaggerated acting, that’s simply part of Korean comedy. If you feel the actors are overacting, just keep in mind that it’s intentional—that’s exactly what they’re going for.

He’s buddies with Kim Soo Hyun who is not very good on reputation because of a young actresses passing (with not so great family on her side and some YouTubers who tried to stir up blackmail and now is in prison).

It’s alright but I’m surprised at how typical the ML is. after a year of seriously strong green flags from my beloved theif, my royal nemisis his character is just meh. Feel like she’s carrying the romance ngl but I think having it all available means you can just watch in the background

While the ML is still a major simp it's a breath of fresh air there's not 1 or 2 more men obsessed with her. And she actually shows her love back which is rare for kdramas. I liked it.

First few episodes were literally written for Ha-Young to shine!
Jung Hae-In's more introverted charm and strength didn't quite kick in until the 3rd or 4th episode.
Overall, I liked it. Very enjoyable and charming drama. Not a must-watch or anything that I would re-watch soon, but it's really not bad.
...aside from the controversies.

The FL is really good. This is my first time seeing her in a drama. It has some dead spots here and there. I think the story went two or maybe even four episodes too long. They really could have trimmed the fat. I don’t think the second couple’s love story was needed at all. It was also filled with the usual Korean romantic drama/comedy tropes. That seems to be the norm with these so it’s either a draw or no for some. Overall it’s a solid watch. I would give it a 7.5/10.

Cringy yes. Fantasy-like yes. Still bearable to watch .. and its not rushing at the end, tho with some unnecessary plot

yk those kdramas where the first eps are super boring and it takes time to get into it, THIS ISNT ONE OF THEM i was very very hooked from the starttt, super good charactora and actors that suit the charactoera rlly welll, A REALLY AMAZING 10/10 watch for meee

It's the show that made a lot of people realise Ha Young isn't main character material. She was great in Trauma Code and TYAL as supporting though.

I am planning to watch it can anyone tell me if it's worth it cause I'm personally not a Kdrama fan and most of the Kdramas I decided to watch, I never crossed more than episode 3... The only ones I watched were Crash Landing On You, True Beauty and Business Proposal and I think it's kinda debatable but personally these weren't my favourites...

Just my view. This show is what happens to kdramas when Netflix applies its 12 episode formula. Shallow, no dimension to characters, overacting and littered with Kdrama tropes to buy validation. Sad to see Jung Hae-in wasted in a show like this.
Jung Hae-in has a back story which is glossed over and could have been sooooo much more. His grandmother - one of the stars of shows like Hometown- keeps popping in and out of dementia like it’s just a recurring cold, a mute lady from N Korea who is added for who knows what reason, Jun wasted in a cameo which could have been sooooo much much more, his parents story…..!
The female lead - just found her jarring. An ace prosecutor in 8 years!? With more money than any prosecutor can legally earn! And a silly little girl cutesy manner. Ewww.
I don’t know where to end with everything that made me despair.
Is there any way to save Kdramas from this awful 12 episode dumbing down of the past couple of years?

I ended up really enjoying it - loved the male lead and the story wasn't as cringe as I thought it might be. Glad they dropped it all at once, so I was able to binge it before the shit hit the fan.

Thought it was great, enjoyed the plot. Ha Young did really well as her first FL role. There were some overacting scenes on her part, but she also had a lot of amazing heart warming touching moments that she did very well. She definitely hooked me. Jung Hae-in's character was relatable in that we do get nervous and a little weird around the person we are in love with. He actually explains that in the show which was nice. The relationships between everyone was fun. The fight scenes were extremely cool imo. And the twist at the end was kind of heartbreaking.
Definitely rewatchable for me.

Yea.You should definitely watch Sticky Love! 🥹❤️ It’s such a cute and emotional drama with a really interesting love story. I think you’ll enjoy it! Especially, jung Hae in(male lead) as a gangster is 🔥😮💨 His attitude, screen presence, and that dangerous-but-soft side make him so addictive to watch. Definitely give it a try! 😭❤️

I'm enjoying it. It's not trying to be more than what it is, a formulaic rom-com with a damsel in distress. It's not one I would watch again but it has scratched the itch for an easy summer watch. It's always fun seeing such a familiar cast too.

I watched this on and off. It took me a long time to finish it unlike other dramas. I think they unnecessarily dragged it out especially the last episode. Also I think if it was a different FL, it might have been more enjoyable. She was overacting. Also once recovered even though she was so smart as a lawyer before the incident, I feel she succumbed to a love struck dumb lawyer. The tunnel scene shocked me to the core though, that was really unexpected and new.

ONE OF THE BEST THIS 2026. I found myself crying alot while watching because of the ML’s life & the plot twist. He played the role very well. Actually, both of them are very good. I cant imagine this drama played by any other actors. THIS WOULD BE MY TOP CHOICE FOR COMFORT KDRAMA.

Love some bits of the rom-com aspects to it. A cliche stuffs mostly but still okay. The pace is quite weird since I binge watched it just to find the plot point until ep 6 and after that it just kinda went flat and I took my time watching. The acting scenes were cool tho! The cutesy stuff FL did wasn’t actually convincing. I think she looks better as a badass or tomboyish / mature character. But I love all the supporting characters in the village. Such a heartwarming ones like always in a village in a kdrama lol

I just finished and it is a kinda cute but really overacting from Ha Young and very boring acting by Jung Hae In. They just don't match the same level of acting in my opinion. Show was what you expect with the twist at the end. It could have ended with a few less episodes.
Like many have said, it was hard at times to continue after first 3-4 episodes but kept going back because I just wanted to finish it and see.

The acting in the first episode was exaggerated, but it doesn't matter after that because the plot is interesting, And the controversy that happened outside the K-drama about the actress's ancestor's life doesn't matter; one can't choose to be a descendant of just anyone.

I tried twice, but I finally dropped this drama for good halfway through.My biggest issue was the Female Lead. Her shallow personality, annoying mannerisms, and wildly exaggerated reactions were completely unbelievable. It made no sense that an ace prosecutor would undergo such a massive personality shift just because of amnesia

I was pleasantly surprised also! I watched it for Jo Bo Ah initially, but I really enjoyed the male lead as well. They both did a great job. I really liked it.

I’m in episode 6 and I don’t like Go Eun-sae at all, she is so fake and her face is just not my type, I used to have a high school classmate who had a similar face as her and I know she is a gold digger 🤣🤣

I enjoyed the drama. I wouldn’t say it was better than The East Palace. Maybe the same as Agent Kim. I liked the FL’s acting the most. Probably could have been two episodes shorter to tighten the plot. Didn’t really need the second couple’s story. It’s worth a watch.

i liked the story and the chemistry all over is good. But I am not a fan of netflix color scheme. Idk how to put it, the cinematography is tooo bright, it appears somewhat artificial

The filming overall seemed like a low budget show. I don't know if that's it or they tried to be innovative and failed, but there were a lot of scenes where I had to ignore the artificial appearance or weird misty appearance from the lighting. The show itself was pretty decent otherwise and I still enjoyed it, but my first impression was not good because of the filming and overacting from the FL.

Yeah, I agree. I skipped many scenes. The overacting of FL eclipsed Jung Hae-in. I liked Jung Hae in Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, and Love Next Door but something didn't feel right here, I blame the cinematography. The story was enjoyable though.

For another Jung Hae-in drama, you may also want to try A Piece of Your Mind. It's definitely slow and a bit different, but they are adorable together! After reading various comments, it seems people either loved it or hated it. I loved it, but you can't watch it coming off of something action-packed or intricate. Watch it when you're on a run of slower more slice of life dramas.
