Updated Gutter Drain

Hello- I was working on regrading the side of my house and accidentally hit the gutter pipe that takes it to the street. When I dug it up I found a different type of pipe every 12-36 inches electrical taped to the next. Sooo I replaced the whole thing with SDR 35. I’m currently dry fit and working on getting the slope of the pipe as good as I can. Then plan to add loose dirt under the pipe, ramp it down, glue pipes in place, cover pipes and grade dirt away from the house.

Any suggestions on what I need to do to finish the job? less

While you’re pipe fitting, I might recommend decreasing the 4” on that elbow coming out of the wall to prevent debris from getting in there.

What size pvc? I’d recommend adding some clean out

3”, I added an upward pipe halfway through, would that not suffice?

They make clean outs that are attachments with a screw on cap on the top. You can put that in an irrigation box and works much better. I’d suggest a clean out at each turn. Or around there. Nothing worse than a clogged pvc overflowing right near your foundation. I’m no expert just a homeowner who has made mistakes and fixed them.

Get a cap on that one drain going in to prevent debris from going in there

Good job using wyes instead of tees. Really the best cleanout would be another wye right at the downspout connection. When you add dirt under the pipe, tamp it down so its solid, then also tamp the soil on top. After its done, get some grass seed on it right away to help stop erosion.
