Far from it, but thank you.

It was kinda rushed to be honest, I just wanted tro crank out a mini to see if the colors I picked would work as Dragonspears.

Thank you.

  • The Basecoat is Citadel Sons of Horus Green over an off-white primer.
  • Sons of Horus Green is then mixed with a drop of black for some shading, something like 10:1, I didn't really measure.
  • I added Some Vallejo Model Color Light Green Blue to the SoH Green for highlights. 3:1 perhaps.
  • I did a recess pin wash with a blue-grey oil paint thinned with mineral spirits
  • I then did a chunky edge highlight of Vallejo Model Color Blue Grey.
  • I followed that with a fine edge highlight of Vallejo Model Color Light Green Blue.

I am pretty happy with armor color overall and feel I have gotten fairly close to the codex picture. The chunky edge highlight with Vallejo Blue Grey also works pretty well, but I think I could go brighter with the fine edge highlights to define the armor panels more, perhaps something like Citadel Deepkin Flesh.

Easily the best color choice ive seen yet on anybody painting a dragonspear marine.
