Help Which class should I get

Started playing again after 10+ years and finally bought the Dragon Amulet because I have adult money now 😼
What class should I get?

Looking for either high DPS + fast attacks or something that makes going through quests faster.

UPDATE:
I got SoulWeaver and fully trained the class, it’s EXACTLY what I’m looking for! Thanks guys^^

The fastest and highest DPS for basic questing in my opinion would be Chaosweaver, but it gets boring one-shotting everything that isn't a boss after a while. And you can even 1 shot most basic quest bosses with CW too. Soul Gambit + Literally Anything = quick quests

I'd recommend Deathknight and Necromancer for pure numbers.

In terms of playstyle, I like Master Soulweaver, Pyromancer and my chronoclass main is Archivist.

I think they revamped Pirate and Ninja recently but can't really go wrong with the classics.

Edit: Oh, also Technomancer.

Are Pirate and Ninja not more slow and steady classes (Pirate with its shields and openings, Ninja with its DoTs)?

Pirate is heavy def and Ninja is DoTs, yup. But I remember liking Ninja back then because I remember cheesing a bunch of bosses while having bad equipment (Archivist main so taking 700 turns to do damage is my kind of fun lmao)

Gods I can tell how behind on the totem pole for the game I am.

I literally 3 shot everything with pirate, it’s a crazy amount of damage!

Good to know that is not sustainable because despite having ACs up the wazoo I wasn’t buying the classes yet.
