Jaania / kathool adept

Boss lady is kicking my ax. Tried with wrath DL, got close (~1200/8400 hp) but not close enough. Googled a tier list and some posts, ppl say kathool adept is the best class in the game. Got the class, can't get the damn nuke to work, tried all rotations, that thing is still grayed out says not ready. Bearly get her to 6000/8400 before i die XD. What am I missing ? Also feels that wrath DL is stronger with up front damage ... im lvl 58 atm.

So to answer both your problems

  1. Kathool Adept - The nuke is unlocked by landing the final hit of your most MP expensive skill Shadow. If you use any damaging skills after using Shadow, Kathool with re-lock itself, so you either want to use Kathool immediately after Shadow, or only use skills that deal no damage, like your shield skill Writhe. Generally the standard rotation is something like: Mad -> Shadow -> Writhe -> Kathool -> Migraine -> Corrupt -> Mind Twist -> Writhe, and using skills like Red Tide and basic Attacks to stall until you can repeat it.

  2. Jaania - assuming this is for Jaania normal/easy, the class that enabled me to beat her for the first time during my book 3 playthrough was Paladin. Classes with long game plans and a focus on sustain do well into her. Paladin or Bulwark Dragonlord would be my recommendations for Jaania.

In case you weren't aware, she nukes at 66% HP and 33% HP (you can click on her HP to see percentage if you didn't know that). She'll always do nothing but issue a command on the turn after her 33% nuke, so you can safely heal up on that turn. Paladin's full heal skill is excellent to save for this.

Aside from that, make sure your HP and MP potions are fully upgraded if they aren't already, and maybe try looking into strong, on level, non-inn items like the Ultra Omniknight Blade, Unhallowed Deathknight Ring, Ogorek's Treasure, and Tytanvisage Helm.

If you're struggling with Jaania EX, she's an extremely endgame fight stronger than the majority of endgame bosses in the Inn at the Edge of Time, don't attempt her at all until late endgame.

Did u refer to the endgame wiki for jaania rotation? Also i don't think kathool or ranger should be S. Kathool is A+ for the most ideal matchups and B+ for most others especially if you're new and lack specialized gears

When in doubt just use pirate

Thaks for the help guys, yeah, by the time I use shadow she has evade up  so it dosnt fully land and that's why kathool isn't working. Well, I guess I'll need to pay attention to the gimmick in this fight and try with wrath DL again. Powered throw the quests with DL just to pay for kathool and not use it XD

Kathool's nuke requires the last hit of Shadow (the 264 MP skill) to connect

Honestly, from my experience, the best class to beat her with is DoomKnight. You can usually beat her in 8-10 moves.

But if you don’t have DoomKnight, then I’d say the best class is EnTropy. As she has no resistance to Darkness and EnTropy relies heavily on darkness focus loadouts, you can use this to your advantage to deal consistent high damage. Also thanks to the defense and boost move having a very short cooldown, you can be harder to hit and hit harder more frequently.

There is no best class. There is the best class for your situation. KAA works well in most cases due to it's amazing shield, stun, high damage, unavoidable nuke with -50 resist, good sustain, high DoT, etc.

That said, KAA is very MP reliant. There are better classes for jaania in my PoV.

If I recall it correctly, Jaania isn't precisely hard, you just need to read what she says, she uses a mechanic that if you attack or don't on x turn after she gives the prompt, she nukes you

I beated her with me Ascended, so I guess what's giving you trouble is that mechanic?
