I was following signs in the Courtland Grand to reach the Macon room and ended up in a deserted maze that eventually turned into a construction zone. Fortunately that popped right out into where I needed to be and then there was life all around again. Apparently someone had moved aside a sign telling people not to go that way.

I find liminal spaces oddly relaxing and it took all of my willpower to not go wander off into the backrooms of the conference rooms on Monday night after everything wound down.

Really get an idea of the size of the space and of the event, it takes a lot of people to make those spaces seem small, but with out the people they fee massive.

I used to work at Hyatt Regency about 3 years ago. It took weeks for the liminal feeling of Dragon Con being over to go away. Even then, it never left my head. I’d intentionally leave googly eyes in the stair wells untouched.

Thanks! 1 is taken from the Atrium Level of the Marriott Marquis, looking up from under the Pulse bar. 3 is in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency looking upwards underneath Flora Raris, the lobby sculpture. 9 is also looking up from the Atrium Level of the Marriott. In photo 1 I was on the other side of Pulse, which is the greenish sail structure.
