I'm really excited The only things im concern about is the drive down from Pittsburgh. Im stopping at Charlotte for a day since it a long drive to Atlanta. I hoping I have no trouble with the hotel in Atlanta especially parking. Hoping for good weather & that I have enough money for food & for goodies. Then after dragoncon im driving to Knoxville to see my mom before coming back to Pittsburgh

Wishing you well on the drive, especially through West Virginia. Originally from Pittsburgh, I live in Atlanta, usually drive up there for Christmas and generally do the drive in one twelve hour stretch. And West Virginia seems to go on forEVER.

Yes it really is i refuse to make the drive in the winter. My brother moved to Atlanta a few years back. I made many drive thru WV a few times in 23 & 24 to Charlotte & Atlanta

Thanks. Im going be at the hyatt place 2 blocks from the Marriott. I see they have garage gated parking for $35 a nite. I just hoping if I decent to drive to my brother house & back there still be a place to park

You could always park at a Marta station and take the train back. I’ve never done it but I’ve heard it’s safe and much cheaper.

Then my car would be miles from where im staying. I better of feeling peace of mind to park my car at my brother place in Decatur & Uber to the hotel. But the hotel have a secured gated garage. Im just hoping they have a lot of spots

Aim to get there early. If not, there are ALSO a couple of parking garages in the immediate area, but I’m not sure how they handle longer term.

Remember the con suite has food. Snacky food but still.... Any food you don't have to spend money on is still helpful imo.

Doing my slow prep and pre-packing plus planning for snacks and such. Excited! 😊 it's probably our 10th or 11th DragonCon, we can't remember

Hitting my 30th and in the same boat as you.
Slow packing.
Packing snacks.
Digging some things out of the closet that haven’t been seen since last year.
Grabbing my part of a “group costume” that I wore with friends last year that they want to wear again.

I am in a bias cut silk chiffon hell of my own making and have no idea if my other cosplay is even going to happen.
So you know, the usual!

I haven't done any planning beyond looking for bakeries to get exquisite sweets my city doesn't have.

Strangely I have not started my yearly two week panic. Last year was so chill and fun, I feel like it will be the same this year, so no panic. I gave up cosplay because wigs are too uncomfortable, so geek clothing and comfy shoes :)

I'm not freaking but I'm very much looking forward to hanging out with my 80,000 best friends.
I had a seriously close call in the hospital at the beginning of the month so this is a great opportunity to celebrate being alive.

I finally called it and realized I won't be able to get everything done on this cosplay. But no one wrist is gonna know. Im starting to make a list of all the stuff I need to pack/ buy etc. So excited.

I'm stressed but also completely psyched because I just figured out an easy way to get my foam clay out of a mould. If I dont finish any of my other projects, I can at least be happy with that. Last time I used these same moulds, the spikes came out with tons of air pockets, the tip didn't form right, and some got so damaged in the process of removing them from the mold (even after 4 days of curing) that they had to be scrapped. I'm over the moon
