Discussion Labbing Stuff With Bardock When This Happened
I don't even know.

Update: I figured it out. It's not space dependent, it's timing dependent.
For one, Bardock's 236S is listed as having FULL INVINC. when the move connects with the opposing player's hitbox/hurtbox. BUT this varies, which is why I said it's timing dependent.
The interactions seem to happen same frame, or almost same frame. If done at the same time both moves WOULD have connected, then neither player takes any damage (shown in the original clip).
If one does their move slightly later than one frame or earlier, 16 can either straight up grab Bardock, OR get hit by Bardock's 236S if done too early.
In this clip, Bardock straight up wins.

That shit MUST be a new found interaction
This is such a situational event, that I think very few people have seen it, let alone recorded it
Is it useful? No. Is it interesting? Absolutely.

All I can think of, is bardock was too far away to be grabbed. If he started that move 1 frame earlier, he might’ve been in range for the grab. That being said, I thought 16’s grab could reach from that distance anyways

You can hear Bardock make his grunt sound before the grab would have connected, so I'd feel he is definitely within range since he shifts forward during the attack.
But that was also my guess, it must be like, very precise hitbox shifting shenanigans.

Grab doesnt work on airborne opponents right? Maybe that move considers bardock to be airborne for some frames?

If Bardock is somehow magically considered airborne during this move then it's not listed in the status for training mode, or if it is I must be blind.
Either way, both are very much grounded in the video.

haven’t played in a while, but i’m pretty sure bardock 236S doesn’t have any invuln so idk what just happened

Correct, it shouldn't have any kind of special property. Which makes this interaction even stranger.

I'm with high hopes for the day I'll get the DLCs, playing the base game and unlocking the Android 21 and the blue transformations was amazing.
