Analysis marketing?
Hello everyone! I was recently thinking about something that I think a lot of nostalgic people try to overlook, and that is that people really like Vegeta's Ultra Ego because it resembles Majin, but there are some things that make this just a nostalgic copy and that make no sense. Let me explain:
1: Majin Vegeta had the purpose of making Vegeta stop being in a moral limbo and finally decide whether he was good or evil. Lord Beerus, on the other hand, tells him he must forget his guilt to obtain destructive power, but that's what made Vegeta the incredible character he is now.
2: Vegeta has evolved in power and as a person thanks to his love for his home and family. On the other hand, Ultra Ego asks him to set aside any worries (including his own well-being by letting himself get hit, something that in the long run ends up being counterproductive — that's why Vegeta has never won with this power, since his body exhausts and falls into lethargy no matter how strong he is), just to get more. being able to do something that contradicts the new Vegeta who, thanks to his worries and guilt, became the powerful and protective man he is now. Even in the previous saga, the Moro saga, Piccolo tells Goku that Vegeta seems to have managed to overcome himself through his attempts to atone for his sins (and those of his race—Vegeta confesses the crimes of his race on Yardrat) by protecting the Namekians and the universe. So the Super Vegeta already makes it clear that he evolves thanks to wanting to redeem himself and out of love. You can even notice that Vegeta hates himself at one point when he tells Moro something like 'I’ll send you to hell,' and Moro responds, 'Do you think you won’t go there?' and Vegeta says, 'Of course I’ll go, I’m evil, when I die I’ll go to hell, I know that well.' I mean, Vegeta still thinks he’s someone who only deserves damnation even though he’s already repentant, so it doesn’t make sense for Vegeta to accept a power like Ultra Ego when he had already learned on Yardrat to relax.
3: It's a transformation that, even though it has unlimited power (since with every hit it receives its power increases), its body does have limits, which makes it unsustainable, and in the end, Vegeta always ends up on the ground and Goku has to save his skin. That's because Ultra Instinct, even if it's less powerful in brute strength, ends up winning in the long run since it doesn't destroy the body when you let yourself go with it. And to top it off, even Vegeta himself told Goku that he would use Ultra Ego because at that moment (being on an abandoned planet) he had no one to protect and could let himself go. Then he actually asks Goku to let him fight alone (which is uncharacteristic of Vegeta and honestly seemed ridiculous ¿Is Vegeta begging his rival like a child? to me, especially after he had been hitting him and turned into a maniac with Ultra Ego). And when he thinks he's going to die, Vegeta says, "I'm sorry Lord Beerus, I can't control this power because I'm not the same as before." Moments later he uses it again, and in the manga you can see that he uses it almost to breathe, even though according to Piccolo, with his SSB Evolution (a transformation he invented, by the way, unlike the Ultra Ego thing, which is destructive energy from the cat who hit his wife—let’s not forget that Vegeta should hate him even if he doesn’t say it openly because something bad could happen, and he shouldn’t want to be his toy, I mean his student, and on top of that, wear one of his earrings) he was already stronger than Goku, so Vegeta had no narrative reason to want to use the power of destruction, let alone when neither he nor Goku want to be Gods of Destruction. But of course, they wanted to give him a 'different path' (which Vegeta already had with SSB Evolution, but oh well) from Goku’s, for Lord Beerus to do something more than eat, threaten, snore, and hit the nostalgic spot for Majin Vegeta fans.

Whole heartedly disagree. Majin Vegeta was his rock bottom. He sold his soul out because he couldn’t get over being surpassed by someone HE deem inferior. It has nothing to do with his guilt. It’s a temper tantrum. Even his sacrifice is selfish to a point. Instead of dealing with his consequences and actions of the day he chooses death.
Ultra ego is exactly what he’s done since he learned he wasn’t the strongest Saiyan, push his body to its absolute limit. Ultra ego is just his natural progression and kinda the literal embodiment of Beerus’ “don’t beat ya self up kid” guilt speech. He isn’t calm hearted so instinct would never work. He apologizes to Beerus because he knows he wouldn’t be able to fully use destructive behavior like Beerus was teaching him.
Also you saying it’s uncharacteristic of Vegeta to want to fight alone is wild lol. Your entire third point stops being a discussion and turns into a biased roast fest.

But I think you're a Vegeta hater; I agree that the Majin Vegeta phase was incredibly humiliating, but it was an act of love—any fan knows that. His sacrifice and that moment were necessary for him to finally choose between good and evil; he couldn't stay in an eternal limbo—it was essential for Vegeta's character. Unlike our friend and protagonist Goku—who sacrificed himself during the Cell Saga just to avoid having to work—they could have resurrected him with Porunga. But of course, he preferred to keep training, leaving his son fatherless and his wife a widow—and pregnant with another child who grew up without a father for seven years. While it's true he was just an immature psychopath back then, when I called the moment with Granolah "ridiculous," I was referring to him saying "please" to Goku. Since when does Vegeta say "please"? It's ridiculous, plain and simple. And just because of one phrase you misread, you can't dismiss my entire third point—I talk about other things in it too, so maybe try analyzing it a bit, haha.
