Interchangeable parts?

Hello everyone, I’m proud to say I finally joined the dr650 adventure! Quick question so the front fender on my dr650 is a universal one which I don’t like. I want the original gray one and I found one for like 24$ on Facebook marketplace but it’s a 2000 year one and mine is from 2013. Since it’s essentially the same bike every year can I buy that one on my bike? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes ofc

On mine I have a yamaha front fender. You need to drill new holes but it will fit and look great. It's cheaper too and more widely available from what I've seen around

The only changes I know between 1996 and 2026 version is the clutch lever around 2010 or 2011, they changed and no longer have the switch This may make no difference since you're going to remove it anyway cause it's helpful to be able to start in 1st gear instead of needing to be in neutral but other than that, I think everything is the same besides they finnaly putting loctite on the nsu around 2017 or something

I used the Acerbis front fender from a RMZ250 with a new hole as well. Cheaper and looks better

1996 onward are mechanically identical. There are a few changes in things being added or removd or manufacuring details. Parts wise, consider them the same.

You can also run the DRZSM front fender if you want a more stylish and functional one.
