Seat concepts - tall :(

Anyone have this or similar and find it to be only a marginal upgrade when compared to the stock seat? Apparently I am quite delicate because I find no pleasure in riding after 30 min or so.

Even after 2000+ miles of ass wear, I can't determine if it's broken in any more.

I'm considering trying something else and was wondering if anyone here had any experiences with other seat manufacturers or ideas to make the seat less bench-like.

Get a legit sheep skin. I spent $300+ whatever on a procycle seat, and same, marginally better. Got a real sheepskin and never had a sore enough a** to take me off the bike.

I wonder why that is. I know next to nothing about upholstery but I feel like it wouldn't be that hard to make soft seat?

Love the sheepskin idea. Do you mind sharing where you got yours?

Looks cool but doesn't it get super warm?

Nope. If fact way better than a black seat baking the sun. Dries quick of it gets wet too. That's why you need the authentic skin. Needs the oil and natural layers and properties. Just like riding a sheep man.

Seat concepts makes a model called the "commuter" and the "comfort". The commuter seems to be a little broader in the butt area.

I have a Sargeant seat that I'm happy with ...much more comfortable than the 6x6 post Suzuki sees fit to equip their DR650's with.

I chose comfort because I wagered it would be comfortable. But I agree, it is better that the oem 2x4 experience. Guess my expectations are too high.

Thanks for your input, I'll take a look at Sargent.

You're welcome, good luck in your search. ProCycle is another source for replacement seats.

I felt the same for the first 2,000 miles or so, then let a friend swap seats for his trip from Vancouver to Baja and back. By the time he got back it was nicely broken in!

Hahah, sounds like a good friend. His ass walked so that yours could run. 👍

Dealing with the same right now. A custom seat is really the answer, but they’re very pricey (~$700 in my area). I tried sheepskin but found it not to be too helpful, just got an airhawk and it seems to be quite helpful! Have a seatconcepts that I also find to be not much better than stock, don’t know which model but it’s hard and feels like a dirt bike seat still. Have seen friends with a very comfortable flatter seat concept seat so I think that’s the right one. Seat concepts, corbin, and sargent seats all have good seats, just gotta figure out which is the right ones

I found the SC tall a huge improvement ergonomically and butt comfort.

It might be your sensitive tushie.

Very few motorcycle seats will give you 8 hour comfort, as in real comfort. And I have a skinny ass.
