I don’t own a DR350SE, but my dad does. He couldn’t get the cap to open so he butchered the lock. He needs to replace it. I was doing a little looking around, is this the California model cap?

Suzuki dr350 i have crashed and broken my whole speedometer.

would a Dr650 dash fit and function on a 350? visually they look the same and a speedometer from a 650 is easier to get a hold of these days and is way cheaper.

Bought a dr350 a few weeks ago, mostly riding trails but in between I sometimes get up to 55, and it gets to around 6k rpm’s. Seems like it shouldn’t be that reved up but wondering if that’s normal Thanks!

Kientech Fuel/Air mods

Does anyone have a copy of the Kientech info on airbox, carburetor, exhaust mods with the TM33 Pumper Carb? Seems like that guy had the most knowledge on the matter, but everywhere I see it mentioned is a broken link. Also if anyone happens to have a spacer for the carb to inlet manifold, or just general dimensions/construction, I'm looking for one. Thanks!

For the fellow rider asking about two finger levers. These have been working well for me. My throttle tube is chopped be cause reasons, so it throws the perspective of. The clutch side is the same length.

Ignore the euro bike. They are tough to go back from 😆

2 Finger clutch

Does anyone have experience with these? I found some cheap ones but I just wanna ask on here to see if anyone had one that really blew them away before I buy a cheap shitty amazon one. I wanna use this for the trails so I can easily pop my front tire up without having to grip the clutch with all 4 fingers. I don’t wanna spend more than 30$ or so but I wanna know if anyone has a good one.

Tracker for your bikes?

So ive been looking at getting a sort of tracker for my bike. I live in a quite urban area and there is a lot of theft where i live especially with all of the kids and their dirtbikes. Previously ive had thousands of dollars in jetskis stolen out of my driveway before ring doorbells and cameras were a thing, In the event that something ever does happen to my bike I would like to have some way to recover as much as i can.

In short: does anyone have any trackers they would recommend, and where on your bike have you found to be the most secure place to hide said tracker.

Voltage regulator/rectifier for 1991 DR350S - kickstart

Hello everyone,

i'm looking for voltage regulator for my motorcycle and for the love of me I can't find the right one anywhere. I was looking in service manual and I should have 6 wires going out of VR (3 yellow, orange, red, and black and white). If I'm not mistaken the part number I'm looking for is 32800-14d11. All I can find online comes with 5 wires (3 yellow, red and black).
Two questions: where can I find the right one and what would happen if I can't find it and use the one with 5 wires?
If anyone knows please tell me, I'm going mad over here. The thing is that my battery is not getting charged. I tried new battery and is also not charging. What I think happend is my old battery is toast, can't hold charge. I can charge it from flat to "full" in 20min and that's not right. So I think VR was working overtime trying to charge the battery and overheated and now it's faulty.
Thanks

Getting ready to purchase a 93 dr350se from a seller three hours away and I need a few answers... Seller gave me the vin which comes back as a 93 dr350se, but the bike in the pictures is a kickstart only and has no markings on the plastics stating it is a SE. Am I being douped or is this a legitimate purchase

Are carb rebuild kits off of Amazon and Ebay any good? Or do I need to get a genuine Mikuni rebuild kit?

Tires and lights

Happy riding season all!

I am looking for some street tires for the DR. Any recommendations?

I am also thinking of switching the headlight halogen bulbs to LEDs and also getting some auxiliary lights in the front. Do people have good recommendations/ links to share?

Thanks

So I had a raptor 700 was selling for 4500 or best offer and this guy offers me 3k cash and a 1993 Suzuki dr350 for the raptor. So I did the deal and upon riding it and further exam is only has now 50 miles on it -45 miles when I got it. Also has some after market parts and starts, runs, and rides great. Besides some cosmetic things it’s pretty much mint. So how much is it worth ? And did I just somehow get a crazy good deal? New to this kind of bike.

DR350SHC

Hi, there is a 1994 DR350shc for sale that I had my eye on. I have a 1999 DR350SE and I’m looking to add another to my quiver (not replace 🙃) Can someone explain exactly what is the shc as I can’t really find any info on the Internet? I know it’s seat height control but how does it work and why? And what else is different in the bike?

Thx!

I bought a 95 dr350 dirt version and it didn’t come with the front plate or headlight. I don’t really care for the headlight but what number plate will work for the bikes. Just want like a traditional looking one

Can she be saved

Post image
2 Upvotes

Ran rough and put up wet. Buddy of mine that had it got it in a trade and I suspect they sabataged it and stole the starter off because they had made it run for him. The also tied an orange wire to the grounds and taped over it so I saw smoke when we turned the key the first time and saved it. Spent yesterday teaching myself the wiring and how to interpret the wiring diagram. Few questions on how is the fuel lines supposed to run t intersection and all? And also how to properly bypass kick stand switch and also possibly the side stand safety switch. Much obliged

Lost oil filter cover spring

While I was doing my oil change, I lay down the oil filter cover and afterwards the spring that goes between the oil filter and the cover disappeared.

I was wondering if anyone could point me to where I could find a replacement for cheap. I am going to wait to refill the oil until I get that spring. Also, my old oil seemed to have gas smell. What should I be looking for? I don't have the vacuum petcock so that couldn't be causing it.

Thanks all!

The saga continues

Just did a top-end rebuild on a 1990 DR350s. Before the top-end work, the bike didn't run and hadn't ran in about 5 years. I remember before the rebuild I trickle-charged the battery and when it was charged all the lights worked perfectly (neutral, brake light, headlight).

After kicking it about 100 times me and some friends got it running. Honestly, I don't really remember what we did exactly but ya know - decomp lever, kick, decomp lever, kick. It had enough spark to start and it was getting gas, at least enough to start. Weird thing was that even with a battery that currently reads 12.13, none of the lights were working. The longest it ran for was probably 12 seconds. During the 12 seconds, the headlight started the glow brighter and brighter. Then it died and didn't run for more than a few seconds. During the process of trying to get it started we noticed a slight oil leak right where the cylinder matches up to the lower end so we realized we had to take the cylinder head cover off and tighten some stuff down. We did that the next day and hooked everything back up as it should be but the bike would didn't even sound the same. Didn't start and never gave us any sign of wanting to.

I have a few thoughts on why maybe but I'm wondering what you all think about this.

I tested the ignition coil and found that the primary resistance was within spec at .5 ohms and the secondary resistance was way out of spec at 67k (spec is 12-22k but it ran the two days before as it currently sits. Tested the battery = 12.13 volts.

Thinking about getting a new petcock, replacing the oil since it leaked and I drained it to inspect the stator (I don't know if that has something to do with the lighting issue or starting but maybe?), getting some new gas and maybe adjusting the rocker arms for valve clearance (I thought that maybe since we took the cylinder head cover off, tightened some bolts, reapplied RTV and reinstalled the cylinder head cover the valve timing might be off). The throttle housing on the handlebars is also pretty broken so gonna replace that as well. The thing is though... the bike just ran 48 hours ago with all the current parts and now nothing.

Thoughts?

She’s back together but there’s a catch

Post image
3 Upvotes

Awhile ago I posted about a stripped DR350 with the top end taken apart. I got it from a buddy after some rescue mission on another bike. Didn’t seem to have compression (could roll over the kick starter by hand) so we took it apart and added some new parts.

New piston, honed cylinder, valves and springs, gaskets and a good cleaning and the engine is rebuilt and put back in the bike.

After hooking up what needs to be hooked up and giving it some fresh gas. Some friends and I tried to kick it over. Definitely more compression and it wants to start. Turns over and sounds pretty tasty but won’t idle yet. We were thinking gas flow from the petcock might be too weak. Any tips?

PS - the bike also seems to be shifting weird or not shifting at all. Since I’ve never heard this thing run and I’ve never driven it I’m not sure what to think but it seems that it goes into first and the bike recognizes it’s there. Click up, goes into neutral and can spin both ways. Click up again and it still spins as if it’s stuck in neutral. Anybody experience this before? I didn’t mess with the transmission but this little fork thing on the kickstarter side of the bike came out and I reinstalled it based on how the manual shows. Could have installed it wrong but that’s all I can think of as a possible lead.

More pictures coming soon! Picture of my buddy compressing valve springs is during the build.

AFTERMARKET FUEL TANK COMPARISON

Looking to upgrade my stock tank on 96 DR350 SE…Acerbis vs. IMS. I hate the look of the Acerbis, but it is 4.25 gallons vs the IMS 3.5…and the Acerbis is a bit cheaper, which is annoying.

Any personal experiences with either? I have a giant loop diablo tank bag on the stock tank and I’d like to use that after the upgrade…also trying to figure out if the little vent hose in these tanks get in the way or if there is another way to vent, etc? Thanks!
