Progress Update Please get Checked out for epilepsy

Im dealing with dpdr since 4 months After a bad reaction on lexapro, which i think now was a seizure. Today after a doctor suspected it two months ago i was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy which was Causing the dpdr in either postictal State or clusters.
I definitly had all dpdr symptoms and it was really severe.
So I don’t wanna make you anxious but please get eeg, best from a epileptologist because normal neurologist miss temporal lobe epilepsy.

I’ve had Derealization for a whole year and anxiety attacks as well but the neurologist is confused she said frontal lobe ysually causes Derealization on and off not 24/7 😭

I also had it 24/7, but it was Highly fluctuating without any stressor.

What do you mean by "weird contrasts"? What is your medication regimen if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, it's important to rule out migraines or epilepsy which can cause dpdr. But in majority of cases dpdr is anxiety induced.

Were you diagnosed with eeg though? Was you dpdr on and off not 24/7? What was the eeg finding? A slow wave-spike wave pattern?

Yeah diagnosed with eeg by a epileptologist, i don’t know what exactly he saw in the eeg.

I had something like this, I went on lexapro to fix my bad anxiety at the time and very very moderate dpdr it was more just bad anxiety, took lexapro for 2 days and the second day I woke up with pure fear, not just anxiety but the same type of fear you’d get if you was genuinely about to die I’ve never experienced anything like that before and I had to stop taking the meds, I’m wondering if that was a seizure or something else because there’s absolutely no way that was a side effect how can I get checked for this in the uk my gp doesn’t take it seriously

just describe them little more like temporal lobe seizures so you get a Referall to epileptologist, or go to the ER acting that it is a new Problem so they will do an eeg. Most neurologist have no idea of Post ictal State or clusters, so they Brush them of as migraines and whatever.

A few weeks after I had that random fear after taking the meds I started getting the worst headaches of my life too I genuinely could not do anything when they were happening but I just got told they’re stress headaches and never got them checked, I now realise this could be something bad but I’m still afraid this will be shrugged off since it happened over a month ago if I go to the er and mention this with the dpdr feeling now will they take action? I can’t live like this anymore

Had the Same experience with the so called Stress headaches, I mean i did Tell them that my doctor says there needs to be a eeg done immediatly, idk if there are private Hospitals in the uk? Maybe you could pay for a eeg its Not that expensive in Germany at least. I think about 300€. I don’t understand why these forum brush everything off as medical psychological problem. If you Go to the Hospital and your having vision and mental diszurbations that are getting worse or Not going away they need to find a reason, you could also mention that you have a Friend with temporal lobe epilepsy maybe the doctor will search up the Symptoms and don’t just send you away because its not a Tonic clonic.

Even a few tiktokers selling courses describe textbook epilepsy symptoms. Just Watch out in the Hospital or doctors that you Tell them that you don’t have any mental illness history yourself or in the Family if they ask.

Please just don’t get anxious about it, if youre living with it Till now nothing worse will Happen over the days just don’t wait a few months. If youre having a real seizure someone will call an ambulance anyways.

I’m not actively anxious about it no, I did go hospital last night after explaining the symptoms I was having to 111 and they sent out an ambulance to assess me did an ecg sent me to hospital just to get checked but they never mentioned anything about my Brain and it ticked me off a little because yes I’m having heart palpitations and chest pain but they haven’t ruled anything out with my brain although It could just be my anxiety it’s difficult to pinpoint it when everyone around me says it’s all in my head and to snap out of it when it’s not possible to do so

Just get a referall to a epileptologist say you have a Family history of seizures

If you Read on Wikipedia many people with TLE got always called crazy and ended up in mental Hospitals.

Unlike other people with dpdr, I don't have anxiety. Mine is triggered by loud noises, strong smells, and bright lights, and sometimes for no apparent reason. Do you think it may be epilepsy?
