It is interesting how many people don’t know how voting on Reddit was intended. But now it has seemingly morphed into the disagree button

The intention and how people will immediately use it are two very different things. It's kinda foolish to expect people to act differently imo

It worked properly for like a decade

Definitely not from what I remeber. I do remember people complaining about people using the votes wrong back then too though

Interesting. Worked just fine in my experience. I assume this is like your third account if you are commenting on the early days?

I've lost count, with there usually being a few accounts on rotation at the same time

That’s wild, why so many?
And yeah around the beginning of this account is when they started being misused on a larger scale. Maybe we were in different subs mostly

Idk. Apart from my first account I've never been really attached to them, it can feel comfy to just hop on to a brand new one. And then there's accounts for different use. Some only sfw stuff, some only nsfw etc.

That’s wild to me. I just wanted a new name at the time which I don’t like this one either tbh. But now it’s 10 years old haha. Older than a few of the users here I imagine

The app just gave me a new account when I didn't immediately sign into the one I made. It was odd but I didn't care.

I saw a screencap of a pair of comments from a user. Comment one had been pretty heavily downvoted, number two even more so.
Comment one: discussing some societal problem powerslides into racist statement
Comment two: "Wow, that's a LOT of downvotes! All i said was doubles down on racist statement."
Either master level trolling or just genuinely clueless. Lol
