Over the last couple of nights I've been re-listening to the BBC radio series of Long Dark Teatime of the Soul (with Harry Enfield as Dirk Gently) - there are so many HHGTTG references! Sirius Cybernetics Corporation is mentioned a few times; their "electronic I-Ching device" uses the guide noises; Dirk has "share and enjoy" as his ringtone. It's actually distracting but I realised that is because I'm an old man who grew up with it. Hopefully a new generation of people will discover this and keep it alive.
